Abstract: A catalyst for converting ethane to monoaromatic hydrocarbons including: a zeolite; cesium oxide, wherein cesium of the cesium oxide is present in an amount of 0.01 to 0.5 weight percent, preferably 0.01 to 0.1 weight percent, more preferably 0.03 to 0.07 weight percent, based on a total weight of the catalyst; platinum oxide, wherein platinum of the platinum oxide is present in an amount of 0.01 to 1 weight percent, preferably 0.01 to 0.5 weight percent, more preferably 0.01 to 0.05 weight percent, based on a total weight of the catalyst; and gallium oxide, wherein gallium of the gallium oxide is present in an amount of 0.01 to 1 weight percent, preferably 0.03 to 0.5 weight percent, more preferably 0.05 to 0.2 weight percent, based on a total weight of the catalyst; wherein the monoaromatic hydrocarbons include benzene, toluene, xylene, or a combination including at least one of the foregoing.

Abstract: A method for the aromatization of hydrocarbons, comprising: introducing a feed stream to an aromatization catalyst in a fixed bed reactor wherein the feed stream comprises a hydrocarbon having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, converting the hydrocarbon having 2 to 4 carbon atoms to form an outlet stream comprising an aromatic hydrocarbon; wherein the feed stream is introduced at a GHSV of greater than or equal to 4,000 milliliters per gram of catalyst per hour (ml·g−1 Cat·h−1), and a pressure of greater than or equal to 0.4 MPa. The feed stream can comprise hydrogen in an amount of at least 0.1 volume percent (vol %) up to 20 vol % based upon total volume of the feed stream.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing terephthalic acid. The process includes contacting p-xylene with a gaseous stream containing oxygen (O2) in presence of a homogeneous catalyst solution, at a reaction temperature of 180° C. to 195° C. to oxidize at least a portion of the p-xylene and form a product stream containing terephthalic acid, said homogeneous catalyst solution contains 350 ppm to 450 ppm cobalt (Co), 170 ppm to 270 ppm manganese (Mn), and 410 ppm to 510 ppm bromine (Br), wherein a Br/(Co+Mn) wt. % ratio is 0.5:1 to 1:1, and a Co to Mn wt. % ratio is 1.5:1 to 2:1.

Abstract: A process for purifying a by-product stream comprising primarily CO2 that emanates from a an ethylene glycol plant, where the by-product stream may contain organic chlorides and water. The process employs an adsorbent to remove one or more organic chlorides from the by-product stream to produce pure or substantially pure CO2. To improve the efficiency of the organic chloride adsorbent, prior to the organic chloride adsorption process, a moisture adsorbent may be employed to remove at least some of the water from the by-product stream.
