摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first panel including a first substrate, a first electrode which is disposed on the first substrate and which includes a stem unit including a horizontal stem and a vertical stem dividing a pixel into domains, a branch unit including branch electrodes and extending from at least one stem of the stem unit in one direction, and an external bundling electrode unit connected to an end of at least one of the branch electrodes and disposed along an edge of the pixel, a first slit pattern which is defined in the branch unit, a second slit pattern which contacts the vertical stem and is disposed parallel to the horizontal stem, a third slit pattern which contacts the horizontal stem and is disposed parallel to the vertical stem, and a protrusion unit which is disposed on an outer circumference of the external bundling electrode unit.

摘要: A liquid crystal display (“LCD”) includes: a substrate on which a pixel region is defined; and a pixel electrode which is disposed in the pixel region on the substrate. The pixel electrode includes: a plurality of unit pixel electrodes which are arranged substantially in a matrix form; and a connecting electrode which connects the unit pixel electrodes to each other. Neighboring unit pixel electrodes adjacent to each other in a column direction are separated from each other by a first in-between area extending along a row direction, neighboring unit pixel electrodes adjacent to each other in the row direction are separated from each other by a second in-between area extending along the column direction, and the connecting electrode is disposed in a region in which corners of the unit pixel electrodes face each other.

摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first panel including a first electrode, which includes side electrodes in edge areas of a pixel, a central electrode connected to the side electrodes and disposed in a central area of the pixel, and fine branches, some of which are connected to the side electrode, a second panel in which a cutout, which corresponds to the first electrode and divides the fine branches, the central electrode and the side electrode into domains is defined, and which includes a second electrode, which is separated by the cutout and corresponds to each of the domains, where second slit patterns, which are provided by partially cutting out ends of the fine branches, separate the side electrodes and the fine branches from each other, and extend in parallel to a longitudinal direction of the side electrodes are defined in the first panel.

摘要: Provided is a liquid crystal display including: a first insulation substrate; a thin film transistor positioned on the first insulation substrate; a first subpixel electrode positioned on the thin film transistor and to which a first voltage is applied; a second subpixel electrode positioned on the thin film transistor and to which a second voltage is applied; a second insulation substrate facing the first insulation substrate; a common electrode positioned on the second insulation substrate and receiving a common voltage; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first insulation substrate and the second insulation substrate, in which the first subpixel electrode includes a plate region and a minute branch region overlapping the plate region with a passivation layer between the plate region and the minute branch region, and the plate region and the second subpixel electrode are positioned on a same layer.
