Abstract: An electronic device includes a camera and a processor. The processor is configured to: obtain a first image from the camera with respect to an external object, move a lens device depending on a specified amount of movement using a lens driver, obtain a second image corresponding to a position to which the lens device moves with respect to the external object, determine a first partial area of the first image corresponding to a specified portion of the external object, determine a second partial area of the second image corresponding to the first partial area based on the first partial area and the specified movement amount, determine a focus position with respect to the lens device based on a defocus difference between the first partial area and the second partial area and the specified movement amount, and move the lens device to the focus position using the lens driver.

The image sensor performs a read-out operation at a speed to prevent blurring of an image. The processor temporarily stores image data by the read-out operation in a memory, loads a plurality of images stored in the memory to generate an image, of which the number of bits is expanded compared with the image signal of the image sensor, and performs gamma processing on the image, of which the number of bits is expanded, to generate an image compressed to the same number of bits as the image signal of the image sensor.

The processor is configured to collect, if a specified event occurs, images obtained from the first camera and the second camera after the specified event occurs and store the collected images in the memory, to compute a second to calibration parameter based on the images obtained after the specified event occurs, if a specified condition is satisfied, and to update the first calibration parameter with the second calibration parameter.
