A multi view image display apparatus is disclosed. A multi view image processing apparatus includes a depth extractor which is configured to extract depth information of a three-dimensional (3D) input image, a depth corrector which is configured to correct a depth of an on screen display (OSD) region in the 3D input image based on the extracted depth information and OSD mask information which corresponds to the OSD region in the 3D input image, and a rendering device which is configured to render multi view images using the 3D input image with the corrected depth.

A multiview image generating method is provided. The multiview image generating method includes generating a hole image using depth information of an original image, dividing a boundary region in which a hole area of the generated hole image is in contact with a background into at least one patch, selecting an area having the most similar pixel value to a background included in the divided at least one patch, in a preset area of the original image, and filling a hole area on the divided at least one patch with a pixel value of the selected area to generate a first view image.

The display apparatus includes an image inputter configured to receive an image, a display configured to display a multi view image that is generated based on the received image, and a processor configured to render views having different viewpoints based on a depth of the received image, expand a normal viewing area based on a cyclic mapping, adjust pixel values of the views so that a view jumping amount of a view jumping area occurring on a reverse viewing area due to the expansion of the normal viewing area is equal to a value, and generate the multi view image based on the adjusted pixel values.
