Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a spacer fluid includes an aqueous fluid, a weighting agent, and a clay stabilizer consisting of one or more polyethylene polyamines having a first structure H2NCH2CH2(NHCH2CH2)xNH2, where x is an integer greater than or equal to 3. The amount of the clay stabilizer may be from 0.1 wt. % to 10 wt. % relative to the total weight of the spacer fluid. The average molecular weight of the polyethylene polyamines in the spacer fluid having the first structure may be from 200 g/mol to 400 g/mol. All of the polyethylene polyamines in the spacer fluid having the first structure may be encompassed in the clay stabilizer. Methods for cementing a casing in a wellbore using the spacer fluid are also disclosed.

Abstract: A lost circulation material (LCM) composition for sealing lost circulation zones in wellbores may include 50 weight percent to 97 weight percent epoxy resin, 2 weight percent to 30 weight percent curing agent, 0.1 weight percent to 40 weight percent weighting material, and 0.1 weight percent to 20 weight percent amide accelerator. The LCM composition may have a density of greater than or equal to 1121 kilograms per cubic meter and may be capable of being injected through a drill bit of a drill string into the lost circulation zone. The amide accelerator may enable the viscosity of the LCM composition to be reduced while providing a reduced cure time. The LCM compositions are suitable for treating high-injectivity lost circulation zones.

A method for isolating a lost circulation zone using the LCM compositions is also disclosed and includes introducing a spacer fluid to the lost circulation zone, introducing the LCM composition to the lost circulation zone, and curing the LCM composition in the lost circulation zone to isolate the lost circulation zone.

A method includes blending the retarder mixture and a cement precursor to form a cement precursor mixture and introducing water into the cement precursor mixture to form a cement mixture. The cement mixture is pumped down a well and cures to form a cement sheath containing the cement precursor and the retarder mixture.

Abstract: Lost circulation material (LCM) compositions for sealing lost circulation zones in wellbores may include an epoxy resin, a curing agent, an amide accelerator, and calcium carbonate having an average particle size of from 1,000 microns to 10,000 micron. The epoxy resin includes at least one of 2,3-epoxypropyl-o-tolyl ether, C12-C14 alkyl glycidyl ether, 1,6-hexanediol diglycidyl ether, butyl glycidyl ether, or cyclohexanedimethanol diglycidyl ether. The epoxy resin can also include bisphenol-A-epichlorohydrin epoxy resin. Methods of treating a lost circulation zone of a wellbore include injecting the LCM compositions into the lost circulation zone and curing the LCM compositions, where the LCM compositions include an epoxy resin, a curing agent, an amide accelerator, and calcium carbonate having an average particle size of from 1,000 microns to 10,000 microns.
