Abstract: A reaction force actuator to be used in a steer-by-wire steering device includes an operating-side shaft, a motor, and a friction drive transmission. The operating-side shaft rotates integrally with an operating member that a driver operates. The motor includes a cylindrical motor output shaft disposed coaxially on an outer circumference of the operating-side shaft. The friction drive transmission changes a speed of a rotary motion of the motor output shaft and transmits the rotary motion to the operating-side shaft.

Abstract: A steering device includes: an electric motor configured to apply a driving force to cause a wheel of a vehicle to roll; a transmission unit configured to transmit the driving force of the electric motor to the wheel; an input determination unit 221 configured to determine whether an excessive external force equal to or greater than a predetermined force is input, or likely to be input, to the transmission unit via the wheel while the electric motor is applying the driving force; and a final target current setting unit 23 configured to, in response to the input determination unit 221 determining that the excessive force is input, or likely to be input, to the transmission unit, reduce the driving force of the electric motor so that a load on the transmission unit does not exceed an upper limit that is preset according to strength of the transmission unit.

Abstract: A joint structure includes first and second engagement members, and an elastic member. The first engagement member includes a first body and a first engagement claw. The second engagement member includes a second body and a second engagement claw. The elastic member is disposed between the first and second engagement portions in a circumferential direction. When a relative rotation angle between the first and second engagement members is less than a predetermined angle, the first and second engagement claws are not in direct contact with each other in the circumferential direction, and a rotational force is transmitted through the elastic member while the elastic member is being elastically deformed. When the relative rotation angle is equal to the predetermined angle, the first and second engagement claws are in direct contact with each other in the circumferential direction.

Abstract: A steering apparatus includes a steering column rotating integrally with a steering wheel, a bracket supporting the steering column via a bearing in such a manner that the steering column is rotatable, and a fixation piece fixed to a vehicle body, where the bracket includes a locking hole, and during a normal state, the fixation piece is locked on a lower surface of an edge portion enclosing the locking hole thereby locking the bracket to the fixation piece, the bracket includes a pair of guided portions extending from opposing side portions of the locking hole toward the steering wheel, and during a secondary collision, the bracket moves forward to detach the fixation piece from the locking hole, and then, the fixation piece is locked on lower surfaces of the pair of guided portions, while guiding the pair of guided portions in the axial direction.
