    摘要: A drive shaft assembly is formed from two concentrically arranged driveshafts fastened together near to one end of the driveshaft assembly so as to prevent relative rotation therebetween and connectable together near to an opposite end via a torque sensitive drivable connection. The torsional stiffness of the driveshaft assembly is primarily dependent upon whether one or both driveshafts are arranged to transmit torque. The drivable connection may be a mechanical lost motion connection which is operable to either connect the two driveshafts together or not based upon the magnitude of torque applied to the driveshaft assembly. Therefore, the driveshaft assembly provides more than one torsional stiffness allowing it to be better optimized to meet differing operational requirements.

    摘要: The invention relates to a connecting joint for transmitting a rotation movement from a first to a second rotating shaft, having a joint outer part, a joint central part, and a joint inner part, wherein for transmitting the rotation movement, the joint outer part is connected to the first rotating shaft and the joint inner part is connected to the second rotating shaft. A plurality of balls are provided in ball tracks, which balls in the ball tracks may change their position in relation to the joint outer part, joint central part, and joint inner part. Rotational movement of the connecting joint, by way of the balls in the ball tracks, is transmittable from the joint outer part via the joint central part to the joint inner part and vice versa.

    摘要: A more durable rotation transmitting member for a coupling directly connected to shafts has: drive-side rotation transmitting cushion to which an input shaft is directly connected; and a hub to which an output shaft is directly connected. Two parallel flat surfaces are formed on the outer periphery of the front end of the input shaft, and a shaft hole receives the front end of the input shaft and is formed in the rotation transmitting cushion. Surfaces of the inner wall of the shaft hole protrude toward the axis (O) to face input shaft front end flat surfaces. Each protruding surface comprises two flat sloped surfaces extending in the direction of the axis (O). When the input shaft starts to rotate, each front end flat of the front end comes into surface contact with one of the protruding surface sloped surfaces which faces the flat surface.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for connecting a drive shaft end to a vehicle drive flange of the type that has six equally spaced, axially directed threaded bores. The apparatus includes a yoke member defining a pair of ears for receiving pin members defined by the drive shaft. The yoke member has at least four equally spaced apart axial through bores that are alignable with four of the bores in the drive flange. Fasteners extending through the through bores are threadably received by the aligned drive flange bores and clamp the yoke member to the drive flange. At least one, but preferably two, drive pins are threadably received by two of the six drive flange bores and include portions that are received by associated bores in the yoke member and are preferably sized to tightly fit the bores in a torque transmitting relationship.

    摘要: In a marine vessel having a drive shaft that extend rearwardly from its hull, wherein the drive shaft has a coupling and a bearing assembly along its length that are supported by struts, which struts are also secured to the hull of the vessel. A coupling cover encompasses the coupling and is mounted adjacent to a bearing assembly. A fairwater encompasses the coupling cover and is attached to the bearing assembly or the strut associated therewith to define a chamber and a clearance space between the fairwater and the coupling cover for directing fluids therethrough and through the bearing assembly to lubricate such bearing assembly. Vanes are located on the coupling cover or on a separate support located within such chamber to enhance the fluid flow through the bearing assembly. A laminate for use in the structures of such coupling cover; the fairwater, struts, vanes and supports wherein the laminate includes a fiber-reinforced toughened epoxy resin layer sandwiched between a vibration-damping elastomer layer and a biocidal elastomer layer. The marine laminate material can be shaped and sized into a marine structure such as described above, and exhibits desirable marine properties including cavitation-resistance, anti-fouling and vibration damping.

The coupling link is connected to a bearing plate which, when the first and second coupling plates are twisted with respect to one another, is pulled radially inward to act upon the spring link so that a high degree of softness in twisting is achieved by the bearing plate acting as a centrifugal weight.
