Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to inventive systems, methods, and devices for use in an outdoor lighting network for drone detection. The drone detection system includes one or more lighting fixtures, one or more radar sensors to detect a moving object, and one or more controllers. The controllers receive data from the sensors, determine the velocity and velocity change rate of the object over a period of time, and analyze flight data pertaining to the moving object to determine if the object is a drone. The system can determine the starting location of the moving object, and send a signal indicating its starting location. The system can also track the position of the moving object in the outside environment.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for assigning a role to a new lighting node in a lighting system based on a received signal strength indicator (“RSSI”) fingerprint of the new lighting node. For example, methods and apparatus described herein are directed to determining RSSI fingerprints for each lighting node in a lighting system, matching one of the RSSI fingerprints to the RSSI fingerprint of a new lighting node, and assigning a role to the new 5 lighting node. The assigned role is the same role as previously assigned to the matching lighting node.

Abstract: The described embodiments relate to multichannel luminaires (102, 212, 404) that employ a color coefficient matrix (CCM) that can be used to adjust an operation of the multichannel luminaires according to their contribution of light to an area (112, 402). The CCM can be generated based on images captured within the area and/or a software simulation that approximates the contribution of light from the multichannel luminaires to the area. Once the CCM has been generated, the CCM can be used to compensate control signals to each multichannel luminaire in order to provide more accurate color rendering and uniform light distribution. Furthermore, feedback from embedded sensors (206) in the multichannel luminaires and/or sensors (116, 208, 210, 418) in the area can provide further basis for compensating control signals according to the qualities of the natural and artificial light entering the area, and the effects of different surfaces (128) on the light.

Abstract: Lighting systems and methods for lighting fixture location mapping, for example, using a combination of photo sensing and/or other type of signaling, such as radiofrequency (RF) signaling is provided. The lighting systems may map a plurality of lighting fixtures to a plurality of spatial locations in a floor plan using the signal generating capabilities and sensors that are located within each of the lighting fixtures. The commissioning of the lighting fixtures may be automatically determined using a control system without significant manual intervention. In particular, the lighting fixtures may be mapped to their respective spatial locations by applying a heuristic analysis of strength of signals emitted and received between light fixtures and distances as provided in a building plan between spatial locations to which the light fixtures may be correlated.
