Abstract:
A method operates a hearing aid which has at least one input transducer and at least one output transducer. An input signal is generated by the at least one input transducer from a sound signal in the environment. From the input signal, a classification of a hearing situation of the environment is determined and/or at least one of four parameters including tonality, loudness, stationarity and reverberation time is determined for the sound signal of the environment. A first intermediate signal is generated in dependence on the input signal by signal processing. Wherein by the classification of the hearing situation and by at least one of the four parameters of tonality, loudness, stationarity and reverberation time, at least one parameter of a frequency distortion is predetermined. The frequency distortion predetermined in this way is applied to the first intermediate signal.
Abstract:
For the fitting of a hearing instrument, an audio signal of an ambient sound, recorded by way of an input transducer, is modified according to a multiplicity of signal processing parameters. Via a first classifier, a user of the hearing instrument is offered a plurality of problem descriptions for the user to select. By way of a second classifier, a proposed solution for modified values of the signal processing parameters is determined based on the user's selection of one of the offered problem descriptions.
Abstract:
A method for operating a hearing system is defined, wherein a sound signal emanating from a sound source is measured by a plurality of microphones, which are fitted in different devices. Each of the microphones detects the sound signal and generates therefrom a microphone signal. The hearing system is binaural and two of the devices are each embodied as a hearing aid. For at least the two microphone signals from the microphones of the hearing aids there is determined an individual reverberation time in each case, and the individual reverberation times are combined in a dataset from which a general reverberation time is determined. An operating parameter of the hearing system is adjusted according to the general reverberation time. A corresponding hearing system is also defined.
Abstract:
A method for suppressing acoustic feedback in a hearing aid device and a corresponding device and a system. A frequency range to be transmitted by the hearing aid device is divided into two frequency ranges that are separated by a split-band frequency. A transfer function of a feedback path is estimated in a frequency range and assessed for its behavior at the split-band frequency. Depending on the result of the assessment, the split-band frequency is lowered or raised and in the upper frequency range a phase and/or frequency change is applied for suppressing feedback.
Abstract:
A method performs directional signal processing for a hearing aid. First and second input transducers of the hearing aid generate first and second input signals, respectively, from a sound signal. A first calibration directional signal which has a relative attenuation in the direction of a first useful signal source is generated from the first and second input signals, and a second calibration directional signal which has a relative attenuation in the direction of a second useful signal source is generated from the first and second input signals. A relative gain parameter is determined from the first and second calibration directional signals. First and second processing directional signals are generated from both the first and second input signals. A source-sensitive directional signal is generated from the first and second processing directional signals and the relative gain parameter. An output signal of the hearing aid is generated from the source-sensitive directional signal.
Abstract:
A method operates a hearing aid device, in particular a tinnitus treatment device. The hearing device has a microphone and a receiver, which can be inserted into an auditory canal of a user or is arranged at least in part in the auditory canal. Wherein active noise control of an acoustic environmental signal, which can be received by the microphone, is achieved at one or more tinnitus frequencies of a user by generating an acoustic cancellation signal from the receiver in the auditory canal of the user.
Abstract:
In a method of operating a hearing device, an input transducer of the hearing device generates an input signal. A preliminary output signal is generated from this input signal through signal processing. An expected direct sound that is expected to be heard at one ear of a user of the hearing device is ascertained based on the input signal. A propagation delay of the preliminary output signal is ascertained with respect to the expected direct sound. A masking signal is generated based on the input signal and/or the preliminary output signal, taking into account the expected direct sound and/or the propagation delay of the preliminary output signal with respect to the expected direct sound. An output signal is generated based on the preliminary output signal and masking signal.
Abstract:
A method for compressing the dynamics in an audio signal includes measuring at least one input level of the audio signal and comparing the measured input level with a limit value. A prescribed compression characteristic having a knee defined by a base value of the input level is adjusted to suit the audio signal by raising the knee from the base value to a higher target value if the at least one input level exceeds the limit value. The audio signal is compressed in accordance with the adjusted compression characteristic. A signal processing unit includes a signal input for feeding in an audio signal and is configured to perform the method, and a hearing device includes at least one microphone for obtaining an audio signal from an ambient sound and the signal processing unit connected to the microphone.
