Abstract: In a method for recovering a lithium precursor from a lithium secondary battery, an electrode powder is prepared from a lithium secondary battery. A calcium compound is mixed with the electrode powder to prepare a cathode active material mixture. The cathode active material mixture is reductively treated to form a preliminary precursor mixture. A lithium precursor is recovered from the preliminary precursor mixture. Accordingly, the lithium precursor is obtained with high purity without a complicated leaching process and an additional process resulting from a wet-based process using an acidic solution.

Abstract: In a method for recovering lithium hydroxide from a lithium secondary battery, cathode powder is prepared from a cathode of the lithium secondary battery. A cathode active material mixture is prepared by mixing the cathode powder with a calcium compound. The cathode active material mixture is reduced to form a preliminary precursor mixture. A lithium precursor is recovered from the preliminary precursor mixture. Therefore, a lithium precursor can be obtained with high purity without a complicated leaching process or an additional process, which result from a wet-based acid solution process.

Abstract: In a method for recycling a lithium precursor of the present invention, cathode active material powders including lithium composite oxide particles and having different particle sizes are prepared. Abstract: In a method for recovering an active metal of a lithium secondary battery, a sulfuric acid solution is added to a lithium metal composite oxide so as to prepare a sulfated active material solution. A transition metal is extracted from the sulfated active material solution. A lithium precursor is recovered by adding a lithium extracting agent to the solution remaining after the transition metal has been extracted from the sulfated active material solution. In the method, the amount of impurities is reduced, and sulfuric acid and the neutralizing agent can be recycled so that a high-yield lithium precursor recovery is enabled.
