摘要: The present disclosure belongs to the field of lithium ion battery recovery and discloses a method for selectively recovering valuable metals in waste lithium batteries. The method includes the following steps: adding a sulfur-containing compound to waste lithium battery for calcination and water leaching to obtain lithium carbonate solution and filter residue; adding sulfuric acid and an iron-containing compound to the filter residue for leaching, performing solid-liquid separation, and taking solid phase to obtain manganese dioxide and graphite residue; extracting and reverse extracting liquid phase from the solid-liquid separation to obtain nickel cobalt sulfate solution and manganese sulfate solution. The method of the present disclosure selectively extracts lithium in waste ternary cathode materials by calcination and water leaching, and realizes selective low manganese leaching based on the principle that divalent manganese can reduce the high oxide of nickel and cobalt in the leaching stage.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for recovering valuable metals from waste lithium ion batteries. The method comprises: short-circuit discharging, dismantling, crushing, roasting, and screening on waste lithium ion batteries to obtain active electrode powders; using alkaline solution to wash the active electrode powders, then filtering to remove copper and aluminum; drying the activated electrode powder after alkaline washing treatment, mix the dried activated electrode powder with starch and concentrated sulfuric acid and stir evenly to obtain the mixed material; calcining the mixed material with controlling the atmosphere; taking out the product obtained from calcination and using deionized water to extract the leachate and leaching residue with valence metal ions, and then obtaining the leachate after filtering. The present invention can reduce the concentration of impurity ions in the leaching solution, improve the purity and comprehensive recovery rate of valuable metals, and reduce the recovery cost.

摘要: A preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) in a protective atmosphere, mixing a graphite powder with a metal peroxide and/or alkali metal superoxide, and leaving same to stand to obtain a mixed graphite-metal peroxide and/or graphite-alkali metal superoxide composite material; (2) putting the composite material prepared in step (1) into a liquid medium, which can react with the metal peroxide and/or the alkali metal superoxide, for a reaction to obtain intercalated graphite; and (3) heating the intercalated graphite prepared in step (2) to prepare the expanded graphite. The preparation method can effectively avoid the generation of harmful impurities such as sulfur and sulfides during the preparation process of the expanded graphite, thereby reducing environmental pollution.

摘要: Methods for recycling lithium and iron containing material, such as batteries, include selectively leaching lithium from the material by disposing the material in a powder form in a solution comprising formic acid and hydrogen peroxide, filtering the solution to obtain a first leach liquor comprising lithium and a residue comprising iron phosphate and carbon, subjecting the first leach liquor to a first precipitation to remove residual iron from the leach liquor and obtain a second leach liquor, and subjecting the second leach liquor to a second precipitation, wherein lithium is precipitated and a third leach liquor is obtained. The third leach liquor may be subjected to a third precipitation using trisodium phosphate or sodium carbonate. The material may be a battery cathode, such as a lithium iron phosphate battery cathode.

摘要: The presently disclosed concepts relate to improved techniques for critical mineral extraction, purification, precipitation, ion exchange, and metal production using a solid electrolyte membrane. By using a solid electrolyte embedded in a matrix, alkali metal (such as lithium) can be more effectively separated from feed solutions. Additionally, energy used to initially extract critical minerals from a feed solution may be stored as electrochemical energy, which in turn, may be discharged when critical minerals are depleted from the electrode. This discharged energy may therefore be reclaimed and reused to extract additional critical minerals.
