Abstract: A method for producing a metal strip in a cast-rolling installation, the cast-rolling installation includes the following: a casting machine, a first furnace, a first shear, a roughing train, a second furnace, a second shear, a finishing train, a cooling section, a reeling system, and a third shear. In order to allow a flexible reaction to different operating conditions, at least one of the following operating modes is selected in order to produce the strip: a) a continuous rolling, in which the casting machine, the roughing train, and the finishing train are operatively connected together; b) a continuous rolling in the roughing train and a single-strip rolling in the finishing train; c) a single-strip rolling in the roughing train and a single-strip rolling in the finishing train; and d) a semi-continuous rolling in the roughing train and/or a semi-continuous rolling in the finishing train.

Abstract: A device and a method for applying a liquid medium to a roll, and/or to a rolled material, a slab or a roughed strip and/or for removing the liquid medium, wherein the device has at least one spray nozzle, at least one row of spray nozzles or at least one cooling bar for spraying on the medium and at least one plate element, which is designed for collecting the medium. The roll is designed for rolling rolled material, wherein the rolled material, the slab or the roughed strip is conveyed in a conveying direction. In order to allow an improved cooling effect of a roll to be cooled or an improved removal of descaling water, the plate element has on one of its surfaces at least one directing element, which is designed for diverting medium into a transverse direction, which lies horizontally and transversely in relation to the conveying direction.

Abstract: A method for producing metal strip in a rolling mill, so that as a result of a more accurate manufacturing of metal strips in the future, a more precise forecasting of the profile contour of the metal strip can be obtained over the width of the metal strip, as well as a more precise setting of the profile actuator of the rolling mill. A forecast value is calculated for the profile contour within the context of the simulation of the rolling process before the rolling of the metal strip. In contrast to that, the calculation in the simulation is not conducted prior to the rolling, but instead it is obtained by a post-calculation after the rolling of the metal strip has been carried out.
