NOVEL HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT ETHYLENE AND A-OLEFIN COPOLYMERS ARE DISCLOSED WHICH ARE AMORPHOUS AT AN ETHYLENE MOLE CONTENT OF UP TO 85% AND ARE CRYSTALLIZABLE WHEN STRETCHED. THE INDUCTION OF STRETCH CRYSTALLINITY INCREASES WITH THE TENSILE STRESS AND MAKES THE COPOLYMERS PARTICULARLY USEFUL IN THE ELASTIC FIBERS FIELD.
