    Abstract: It is made possible to obtain a common image between a VR-compatible terminal and a VR non-compatible terminal when distributing VR content. A projection picture having a rectangular shape is obtained by cutting off a part or the whole of a spherical capture image and performing in-plane packing on the cut-off spherical capture image. A video stream is obtained by encoding image data of this projection picture. A container containing this video stream is transmitted. Meta information for rendering the projection picture is inserted into at least one of a layer of the container or a layer of the video stream. The center of a cut-out position indicated by cut-out position information inserted in a layer of the video stream is adjusted to coincide with a reference point of the projection picture indicated by the meta information for rendering.

    Abstract: High frame rate moving image data is satisfactorily transmitted.
    Mixing processing is performed in units of two temporally consecutive pictures in predetermined frame rate image data, and base frame rate image data is obtained. Image data of one picture in units of the two temporally consecutive pictures is extracted, and high frame rate enhanced frame image data is obtained. Prediction encoding processing of base frame rate image data is performed to the base frame rate image data, and a base stream is obtained. Prediction encoding processing with respect to the base frame rate image data is performed to the high frame rate enhanced frame image data, and an enhanced stream is obtained. A predetermined format container is transmitted including the base stream and the enhanced stream.

    A container in a predetermined format is received, the container including a video stream having video data and a subtitle stream having subtitle data. The video stream is decoded to acquire the video data. The subtitle stream is decoded to acquire bitmap data of subtitles. Processing of correcting at least one of a size of the subtitles and a display position of the subtitles, is performed to the bitmap data of the subtitles. The bitmap data of the subtitles to which the processing has been performed, is superimposed on the video data to acquire display video data.

    Abstract: The luminance atmosphere that the creator intends is excellently reproduced on the receiving end. The transmission video data is obtained by applying a predetermined opto-electrical transfer function to the input video data. The transmission video data is transmitted together with the luminance conversion acceptable range information about a set region in the screen. For example, a transmitting unit transmits a video stream obtained by encoding the transmission video data while inserting the luminance conversion acceptable range information into a layer of the video stream. The receiving end obtains display video data by applying an electro-optical transfer function corresponding to the predetermined opto-electrical transfer function to the transmission video data, and performing a luminance conversion process in each of the set regions independently in accordance with the luminance conversion acceptable range information.

    Abstract: Convenience is achieved in performing processing depending on decoding capability in a reception side. High-frame-rate ultra-high-definition image data is processed to obtain first image data for acquisition of a base-frame-rate high-definition image, second image data for acquisition of a high-frame-rate high-definition image by being used with the first image data, third image data for acquisition of a base-frame-rate ultra-high-definition image by being used with the first image data, and fourth image data for acquisition of a high-frame-rate ultra-high-definition image by being used with the first to third image data. A container is transmitted including a predetermined number of video streams including encoded image data of the first to fourth image data. Information is inserted into the container, the information corresponding to information that is inserted into each of the predetermined number of video streams and associated with image data included in the video streams.
