摘要: A system for diagnosing the operating state of a MEMS sensor includes a stimulation circuit, external to the MEMS sensor, configured to generate a stimulation signal designed to be detected by the MEMS sensor. The system has control circuitry, operatively coupled to the stimulation circuit and to the MEMS sensor, so as to control the stimulation circuit to generate the stimulation signal and receive a diagnostic signal generated by the MEMS sensor in response to the stimulation signal. The control circuitry determines an operating state of the MEMS sensor based on the diagnostic signal and an expected response to the stimulation signal by the MEMS sensor.

摘要: A method for mutual authentication that includes establishing a first inductive coupling between a wireless-power receiver and a wireless-power transmitter to transfer power from the wireless-power transmitter to the wireless-power receiver by a power signal and using the power signal to transmit a first response to a physically unclonable function to the wireless-power transmitter. The method further including generating a second response to the physically unclonable function and communicating information derived from the second response to initiate a mutual authentication process between the wireless-power receiver and the wireless-power transmitter during a subsequent inductive coupling.

摘要: A method includes collecting, at a building opening, air pressure signals from a pressure sensor and sound signals from a sound sensor. The method also includes sensing pressure peaks occurring in the air pressure signals and sensing sound pulses occurring in the sound signals. A joint occurrence of a pressure peak in the air pressure signals and a sound pulse in the sound signals is indicative of an opening/closing event of the building opening.

摘要: A method includes sensing a level of ultraviolet radiation in an environment in which an electronic device is present, detecting an environmental condition of the electronic device based upon the sensed level of ultraviolet radiation, and controlling the operation of the electronic device based upon the detected environmental condition. The detected environmental condition may include an indoor condition, outdoor condition, near-window condition, near-door condition, and in-vehicle condition of the electronic device. Controlling the operation of the electronic device based upon the detected environmental condition may include selectively activating and deactivating components of the device based on the detected environmental condition to reduce power consumption of the device.

摘要: An analysis method of a device through a MEMS sensor is provided in which the MEMS sensor includes a control unit and a sensing assembly coupled to the device. The analysis method includes acquiring, through the sensing assembly, first data indicative of an operative state of the device. Testing is performed for the presence of a first abnormal operating condition of the device. If the first abnormal operating condition of the device is confirmed, a self-test of the sensing assembly is performed to generate a quantity indicative of an operative state of the sensing assembly. The self-test includes acquiring, through the sensing assembly, second data indicative of the operative state of the sensing assembly, generating a signature according to the second data, and processing the signature through deep learning techniques to generate said quantity.

摘要: A control method of an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a control unit coupled to a proximity sensor to detect a first distance of a user in a field of view, and coupled to a charge variation sensor to detect an electric/electrostatic charge variation caused by the user in a detection region. The control method includes acquiring a charge variation signal and generating charge variation parameters as a function of the charge variation signal. The control method further includes determining whether a condition on charge variation parameters is verified, and if the condition on charge variation parameters is verified, activating the proximity sensor and acquiring a proximity signal. Proximity parameters are generated as a function of the proximity signal. If a condition on proximity parameters is verified, one or more functionalities of the apparatus are activated.

摘要: An integrated circuit includes sensing circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry processes received sensor-session requests and received sensor-service requests. Processing a received sensor-service request includes determining a type of the received sensor-service request. In response to determining the received sensor-service request is of a first type, results information is generated in response to the received sensor-service request of the first type based on sensor data generated by the sensing circuitry. In response to determining the received sensor-service request is of a second type, remote-server processing based on the received sensor-service request of the second type is initiated, and a response to the received sensor-service request of the second type is generated based on a received response to the initiated remote-server processing.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a gas sensor device that detects gases with large molecules (e.g., a gas with a molecular weight between 150 g/mol and 450 g/mol), such as siloxanes. The gas sensor device includes a thin film gas sensor and a bulk film gas sensor. The thin film gas sensor and the bulk film gas sensor each include a semiconductor metal oxide (SMO) film, a heater, and a temperature sensor. The SMO film of the thin film gas sensor is an thin film (e.g., between 90 nanometers and 110 nanometers thick), and the SMO film of the bulk film gas sensor is an thick film (e.g., between 5 micrometers and 20 micrometers thick). The gas sensor device detects gases with large molecules based on a variation between resistances of the SMO thin film and the SMO thick film.

摘要: A system for detecting steps of a user includes processing circuitry and a sensor configured to detect a variation of electrostatic charge of the user during a step of the user and generate a charge-variation signal. An accelerometer is configured to detect an acceleration as a consequence of the step and generate an acceleration signal. The processing circuitry is configured to: acquire the charge-variation signal; acquire the acceleration signal; detect, in the charge-variation signal, a first characteristic identifying the step; detect, in the acceleration signal, a second characteristic identifying the step. If both of the first and second characteristics have been detected, the presence of the step can be validated.
