摘要： A display device includes an optical member, a display panel disposed on the optical member, and a plurality of light emitting units disposed under the optical member, the optical member comprising, a diffusion layer, and a reflectivity control layer which is disposed under the diffusion layer and reflects a light provided from the light emitting units, including a first base material, reflective materials dispersed in the first base material, a plurality of first portions corresponding to the plurality of light emitting units, and a second portion disposed adjacent to the first portions, where each of the plurality of first portions comprises a greater amount of the reflective materials than the second portion, when a first portion and a second portion represent a unit area having a predetermined size.

摘要： A backlight unit includes a light source which generates light, a light guide plate which guides the light substantially in an upward direction, a first frame member which holds the light source and diffuses the light traveling substantially in the upward direction between the light source and the light guide plate, a second frame member which holds the light guide plate, a third frame member which holds the light guide plate, a reflective plate disposed under the light guide plate and which reflect the light leaked downwardly from the light guide plate substantially to the upward direction, and an optical sheet disposed on the light guide plate and the first to third frame members and which diffuses the light provided from the first frame member and the light guide plate and condenses the light substantially in the upward direction.

The display device comprises a display panel, an optical layer on the display panel, and a backlight unit that is below the display panel and provides the display panel with light. The optical layer includes a plurality of optical fiber segments, and an air layer between the optical fiber segments. The light generated from the backlight unit is provided to the optical fiber segments through the display panel, and the light is diffused by the optical fiber segments and an air layer dispersed among the optical fiber segments.

摘要： A display device includes a display panel, a backlight unit, and support members. The display panel displays an image, and a first edge section, a middle section, and a second edge section are defined on the display panel. The backlight unit outputs light toward the display panel. The support members are disposed between the display panel and the backlight unit corresponding to the first and second edge sections, and the support members space the display panel from the backlight unit. A spacing distance between the display panel and the backlight in each of the first and second edge sections is greater than a spacing distance between the display panel and the backlight unit in the middle section.
