    Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel; a power management circuit configured to: perform a short detection operation with a first short detection condition during a start-up operation; supply first and second power supply voltages in the normal mode; and stop supplying the first and second power supply voltages in the low power mode; and a display driver configured to provide a first image signal in the normal mode and a second image signal for in the low power mode, the display driver comprising a power block configured to supply first and second standby power supply voltages in the low power mode, wherein, in a transition frame between the low power mode and the normal mode, the display driver provides the second image signal for the standby image to the display panel, and the power management circuit performs the short detection operation with a second short detection condition.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel to display an image, a data driver to supply a data signal to the display panel, and a power supply to supply a driving voltage to the display panel through a power supply line and to supply a data driving voltage to the data driver, in which the power supply is configured to detect a voltage of the power supply line during an initial driving period during which the data driving voltage is supplied to the data driver, to supply a ground voltage to the display panel when the voltage detected from the power supply line is different from a reference voltage, and to supply the driving voltage to the power supply line after the initial driving period.

    Abstract: A direct current-to-direct current (“DC-DC”) converter includes: a first converter which outputs a first power voltage in a normal mode or a power saving mode based on a inductor current generated therein, where the first converter operates in a first driving manner in the normal mode, and operates in a second driving manner in the power saving mode; a second converter which outputs a second power voltage based on a inductor current generated therein, where the second converter operates in a third driving manner in the power saving mode, and a magnitude of the second power voltage in the power saving mode is different from that in the normal mode; and a mode selector which supplies a mode control signal to the first and second converters, where the first and second converters are driven in the normal mode or the power saving mode based on the mode control signal.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel which displays an image in a normal mode or low power mode. A DC-DC converter supplies a source driving voltage to the data driver, and supplies a first power voltage to the power line of the display panel in the normal mode. The data driver supplies a first auxiliary power voltage to the power line of the display panel in the low power mode. The DC-DC converter gradually changes the voltage level of the first power voltage to a reference output voltage level over a first period when the display panel initially enters into the normal mode, and changes the voltage level of the first power voltage to the reference output voltage level over a second period shorter than the first period when the mode of the display panel is switched from the low power mode to the normal mode.

    Abstract: A DC-DC includes a sensor, a determiner, a reference voltage controller and an output voltage controller. The sensor is configured to sense an output voltage to generate a sensed signal. The determiner is electrically connected to the sensor and is configured to determine a difference between the sensed signal and a first protection level for generating a determiner output. The reference voltage controller is electrically connected to the determiner and is configured to generate a second reference voltage based on a first reference voltage and a value of the determiner output. The output voltage controller is electrically connected to the sensor and is configured to output the output voltage based on an input voltage, a feedback voltage of the output voltage, and the second reference voltage.

    Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel including scan lines, a first power line, a second power line, and pixels connected to the scan lines and the first and second power lines; a gate driver to sequentially provide scan signals to the scan lines based on a clock signal; and a power supply including transistors to convert an input power voltage into a first power voltage through a switching operation of the transistors and to supply the first power voltage to the first power line through a first output terminal. In response to an amount of current flowing through the pixels being less than a first reference current amount, the power supply is configured to change one or more of an off-duty of at least one of the transistors, a channel capacitance of at least one of the transistors, a switching frequency of at least one of the transistors, and a slew rate of at least one of control signals for the transistors.
