Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication technique of combining a 5G communication system to support a higher data transfer rate than in a 4G system with IoT technology, and a system thereof. The disclosure provides a terminal in a wireless communication system. The terminal includes at least one processor configured to: obtain a codebook set for the terminal; generate uplink signals by using a plurality of codebooks of the codebook set; and control at least one transceiver to transmit the uplink signals to a base station. A first uplink signal of a first resource among the uplink signals is generated based on a codeword of a first codebook among codebooks and a second uplink signal of a second resource adjacent to the first resource among the uplink signals is generated based on a codeword of a second codebook which is different from the first codebook among codebooks.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method may include: receiving, from a base station via MAC CE, information associated with activation of one or more TCI states, wherein the information associated with the activation of one or more TCI states indicates a first serving cell ID, a CORESET index, and one or more TCI state IDs; and in case that the first serving cell ID is included in a list of a plurality of serving cells that are configured to be simultaneously updated for a TCI relation with the MAC CE, activating the one or more TCI state IDs for the CORESET index of each of the first serving cell ID and at least one second serving cell ID included in the list.

The capability information is associated with an X division duplexing (XDD) system. Resource configuration information is received based on the resource configuration information. A resource on which uplink control information (UCI) is to be transmitted is determined. The UCI is transmitted on the determined resource. The XDD system configures an uplink resource and a downlink resource in a same slot in different frequency resources.
