An apparatus and a method for supporting Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) are provided. The apparatus includes a cause analyzer configured to analyze a cause of a reliability of a diagnosis result of a medical image being lower than a level, the medical image being captured using a probe, and a guide information generator configured to generate guide information of an operation of the probe based on the analyzed cause.

Apparatuses and methods for automatic query processing are disclosed, which includes a query analyzer configured to a query analyzer configured to extract the query condition from the input query, a scheduler configured to create one or more sub-queries to verify whether the query condition is satisfied, and to determine an execution condition for the one or more sub-queries, and a condition verifier configured to execute the one or more sub-queries according to the determined execution condition, and to verify whether the query condition is satisfied using results of executing the one or more sub-queries.

An apparatus and a method for Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) and an apparatus for controlling an ultrasonic transmission pattern of a probe, are provided. The apparatus for controlling the ultrasonic transmission pattern is configured to transmit ultrasonic signals to an object in directions, and receive ultrasonic echo signals in response to the ultrasonic signals being reflected from the object. The apparatus for controlling the ultrasonic transmission pattern includes a determiner configured to determine, based on pressure that is applied on the probe, a number of transmission directions in which the ultrasonic signals are to be transmitted, and determine the transmission directions in which the ultrasonic signals are to be transmitted, based on the determined number of the transmission directions. The apparatus further includes an energy controller configured to control energy of each of the ultrasonic signals based on the determined number of the transmission directions.

An intelligent dialog processing apparatus and method. The intelligent dialog processing apparatus includes a speech understanding processor, of one or more processors, configured to perform an understanding of an uttered primary speech of a user using an idiolect of the user based on a personalized database (DB) for the user, and an additional-query processor, of the one or more processors, configured to extract, from the primary speech, a select unit of expression that is not understood by the speech understanding processor, and to provide a clarifying query for the user that is associated with the extracted unit of expression to clarify the extracted unit of expression.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for adaptive computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) are provided. The adaptive CAD apparatus includes an image analysis algorithm selector configured to select an image analysis algorithm based on a speed of a probe or a resolution of a current image frame obtained by the probe; and an image analyzer configured to detect and classify a region of interest (ROI) in the current image frame using the selected image analysis algorithm.
