Abstract:
A wireless access point location positioning method and terminal operation method for floor information update. A method includes a terminal acquiring absolute location information, and transmitting surrounding Access Point (AP) signal information of an absolute location, together with the absolute location information, to a location server. The location server includes receiving surrounding AP signal information of the absolute location and associated atmospheric pressure information thereof, together with the absolute location information, from a terminal, determining locations of APs based on the received absolute location information and the surrounding AP signal information of the absolute location, and updating a related AP location using the determined locations of the APs.
Abstract:
A positioning method and apparatus of an electronic device which comprises a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or Global Positioning System (GPS), and an Inertial Navigation System (INS), includes receiving a satellite signal through the GNSS. A location of the electronic device and a reliability of location information of the electronic device is determined based on the satellite signal provided by the GNSS using at least one of satellite information of the satellite signal and location information based on the determined location of the electronic device. An operational level of the INS is determined using the reliability of the location information of the electronic device; and compensating the location of the electronic device by operating the INS according to the determined operational level of the INS.
Abstract:
A user authentication apparatus and method for allowing a user to conveniently perform user authentication by a touch and motion-based gesture in a terminal are provided. In the user authentication apparatus, a low-power sensor platform is configured to transfer a wake-up signal to a controller upon detecting a motion of the terminal for waking up while the terminal is in a sleep mode, and to transfer a motion signal generated while the terminal is in a wake-up mode to the controller. The controller is configured to switch the terminal to the wake-up mode in response to the wake-up signal that is received from the low-power sensor platform while the terminal is in the sleep mode, and to switch to a user-authenticated specific application mode upon receiving the motion signal from the low-power sensor platform during a touch occurring in a specific area while the terminal is in the wake-up mode.
