Abstract: The disclosure relates to a sensor network, machine type communication (MTC), machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, and technology for internet of things (IoT). A method of a server is provided. The method includes determining a target temperature range to be applied to a first zone; predicting an indoor temperature for each of a plurality of zones included in a second zone in which the first zone is included; predicting efficiency of at least one first outdoor unit connected to first indoor units installed at the second zone; and controlling operations of the first indoor units based on the target temperature range, the indoor temperature for each of the plurality of zones, and the efficiency of at least one first outdoor unit.

Abstract: A method of load balancing by multiple cores in a multi-core-based load balancing apparatus comparing arriving packets with a signature is provided, and comprises first load-balancing first packets arriving on the multiple cores during a first period based on an arrival rate of the first packets, identifying a signature for the comparison, analyzing the first packets, determining at least one service type of the first packets, estimating a mean deep packet inspection (DPI) time corresponding to the determined at least one service type of the first packets, generating a load balancing rule using the estimated average DPI time, and second load-balancing second packets arriving on the multiple cores during a second period using the generated load balancing rule.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing lighting control are provided. An electronic device capable of light control includes a sensor unit including at least one sensor, configured to output a sensing signal based on the at least one sensor, a communication unit comprising communication circuitry configured to transmit, to a server, a request message including identification information and context information, to receive a response message from the server in response to the request message, and to transmit a light control command message to a light controller, a controller configured to generate the context information based on the sensing signal received from the sensor unit, and to generate the light control command message to satisfy a visual comfort condition based on light control zone information corresponding to the identification information and the context information, included in the response message, and a storage including a database for light control.
