A control for a power saving of an electronic device is disclosed. The device includes a camera configured to be activated and then obtain an image when no input event is received within a given time after activation of a selected function. The device further includes a control unit configured to, if the obtained image contains a specific pattern, determine whether the specific pattern corresponds to a human face pattern, and to, if the specific pattern does not correspond to the human face pattern, perform a power saving control of the electronic device.

An electronic device processes image data using a plurality of image sensors and a control unit. The control unit, in response to receiving image data from one image sensor of the plurality of image sensors, establishes a single mode processing path for processing the received image data using a first processor corresponding to system processing unit via the single mode processing path. The control unit, in response to receiving the image data from two or more sensors of the plurality of image sensors, establishes a dual mode processing path for processing the image data using a second processor corresponding to a graphic processing unit, and processing the image data via the dual mode processing path.

An electronic device includes at least one communication circuit, at least one microphone, at least one processor operatively connected to the at least one communication circuit and the at least one microphone, and at least one memory operatively connected to the at least one processor. The at least one memory is configured to store instructions. The at least one processor is configured to store intent masking information that defines an utterance processing target for at least one intent, in the memory. When an utterance indicating a speech based intelligent assistance service through the at least one microphone is received, the at least one processor is configured to determine that a processing target of the received utterance is one of the electronic device or a server connected through the at least one communication circuit, based on the intent masking information.

An electronic device, according to various embodiments, comprises a communication interface, a processor, and a memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: obtain a user utterance; confirm context information associated with the user utterance; on the basis of the context information, select, as a target device, at least one external electronic device from among a plurality of external electronic devices; and via the communication interface, transmit at least a part of the context information to the at least one external electronic device selected as the target device. According to various embodiments, an electronic device performing an operation corresponding to an utterance of a user in a multi-device environment includes a communication module, a processor, and a memory. The processor operates a first electronic device for receiving and a second electronic device for executing in association with each other. The memory stores instructions that, when being executed, cause the processor to: determine whether a first utterance received at the first electronic device should be performed at the second electronic device; when the first utterance should be performed at the second electronic device, form a connection binding with the first electronic device and the second electronic device by using one or more channels through the communication module. When an operation corresponding to the first utterance is completed at the second electronic device, the processor terminates the connection binding with the first electronic device and the second electronic device.

A method for an electronic device to control at least one external electronic device is provided. The method includes receiving an input for calling a voice-based assistant of the electronic device from a user, broadcasting, in response to the input, a request signal for requesting transmission of a response signal, receiving the response signal including location information about at least one external electronic device from the at least one external electronic device, obtaining a location of the electronic device based on the response signal, receiving a control utterance from the user, and transmitting the control utterance and location information about the electronic device to a server device.
