Abstract: An electronic device for widening an active area of a display is provided. The electronic device includes a housing including a first plate and a second plate facing away from the first plate, a touch screen display including a first glass plate, a second glass plate, and an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) layer interposed between the first plate and the second plate, a flexible layer including a first portion connected to the first surface of the second glass plate and bent around an edge of the second glass plate toward the second plate of the housing, and a second portion extending from the first portion and interposed between the second glass plate and the second plate of the housing, a display driver integrated circuit (DDIC) mounted on a first surface of the second portion of the flexible layer, and a printed circuit board (PCB) including a portion mounted on a second surface of the second portion of the flexible layer.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing that forms a rear surface of the electronic device and at least a portion of a side surface of the electronic device, a display that forms a portion of a front surface of the electronic device, a flexible layer extended from the display, the flexible layer including: a bent portion, and a planar portion extended from the bent portion and disposed between the display and the rear surface of the housing, the planar portion including a first surface facing the display and a second surface facing the rear surface, a display driver integrated circuit (DDIC) mounted on the first surface of the planar portion of the flexible layer, the DDIC electrically connected to the display, and a flexible printed circuit board connected with the flexible layer on the second surface of the planar portion of the flexible layer.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electronic device for acquiring biometric information and an operating method thereof. An electronic device may include: a display including one or more pixels, each pixel including one or more subpixels, and the display configured to include a first area and a second area; a display driver IC configured to control driving of the display; a biometric sensor configured to at least partially overlap the second area, and configured to acquire biometric information; and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to: identify a request for acquisition of the biometric information; based at least in part on the request, identify state information related to the acquisition of the biometric information; and if the state information satisfies a specified condition, perform a first acquisition of the biometric information using light emitted through the second area, wherein the light emitted through the second area has a specified level of brightness, and wherein in performing the first acquisition of the biometric information, the processor may be further configured to adjust an intensity of light emitted through the first area to be lower than the specified level of brightness.
