Abstract: A display apparatus includes a processor configured to receive device information of a portable device, which includes first information about a wireless connection between the portable device and an access point and second information about whether the portable device supports a real simultaneous dual band (RSDB), acquire device information of the display apparatus, which includes third information about a wireless connection between the display apparatus and the access point and fourth information about whether the display apparatus supports the RSDB, determine a peer-to-peer (P2P) operating channel between the display apparatus and the portable device based on the device information of the display apparatus and the device information of the portable device, and control the display apparatus to connect the display apparatus to the portable device through the determined P2P operating channel.
