    摘要: A needle guard assembly is provided for mounting to the hub of a needle assembly. The needle guard assembly includes a guide that is engageable on the hub. An elongate U-shaped cover is hingedly mounted to the guide and can be rotated from a first position where the needle cannula is substantially surrounded by the U-shaped walls of the cover into a second position where the needle cannula is exposed for use. The needle guard assembly further includes a slide that is slidably engaged in the guide and movable from a first position where the slide cooperatively engages the cover for completely surrounding the needle cannula to a second position where the slide is spaced proximally from the cover, thereby permitting the cover to rotate into its second position.

    摘要: A safety needle assembly for an intravenous fitting which protects against inadvertent touch contact with a piercing element after use. The assembly includes a piercing element such as a sharpened needle cannula or a blunt ended cannula that is mounted within a carrier member. A protective shield component is provided which is axially slidable relative to the carrier member and configured to attach to an intravenous fitting. The protective shield and carrier member may feature a guide assembly for guiding the shield between a pre-use, injection position and a post-use, locked position wherein inadvertent touch contact with the distal end of the piercing element is avoided. A releasable locking assembly may also be incorporated to releasably retain the protective shield in its pre-use position so as to facilitate attachment of the safety needle assembly with the intravenous fitting.

    摘要: A safety needle assembly for providing secure connection of a needle cannula to a straight-site or Y-site of an intravenous fitting. The assembly includes a base portion and a protective shield disposed about the needle cannula to at least partially envelop the needle cannula within the shield. A latch is pivoted to the shield so as to releasably lock the intravenous fitting within the shield. The latch includes a pivot arm having at least one shield engaging finger member disposed to biasingly engage at least a portion of the shield, and at least one member disposed through a passageway formed in the shield to trap the intravenous fitting within the shield.

    摘要: A stereophonic microphone system for improving stereophonic hearing utilizes intensity stereophonic and/or time difference stereophonic pickup methods with the use of replicas of the human head. The microphones are mounted in the replicas of the outer auditory meatus. The replica of the human head is limited to replicas of the pinna with outer auditory meatus. In addition to the known stereophonic recording device used as a position association stage, two replicas of human pinnas are used, with pressure microphones in each opening of the auditory meatus as a shape association stage. The pinna replicas are arranged spaced apart and oriented on the human head or closely next to each other with the same orientation. The pinna replicas are arranged preferably immediately adjacent the arrangement of known directional microphones for the interaural sound recording in the horizontal and median planes. As a result, in addition to the proven technology of intensity and/or delay stereophonics in the frequency range below approximately 1500 Hz, interaural resonances become effective in the horizontal and vertical plane through the pinna replicas in the frequency range above approximately 1500 HZ. It is significant that here signals are created which are as incoherent as possible in order to avoid, particularly in head set reproduction, a localization in the head or the proximity effect at the ears.
