Abstract: It is disclosed a capacity touch fabric sensor (10) comprising a fabric layer (30) and layer (20) of a highly resistive material coating, the resistive coating layer (20) coating the fabric layer (30), wherein the fabric sensor (10) further comprises a plurality of electrodes (40) superimposed to the fabric layer (30), the plurality of electrodes (40) being electrically coupled with the first layer (20) of resistive material coating, each electrode (40) being connected by means of an electrical connection (50) to an electronic control unit (450), the electronic control unit (450) being configured to evaluate the capacitance variation of the resistive layer that is indicative of a touch event on the capacity touch fabric sensor (10).

Abstract: It is disclosed a stretchable touchpad (10) of the capacitive type including a stretchable textile fabric (20) having a plurality of conductive elements incorporated therein. The conductive elements are resistive strain gauges (30, 40) which form electrodes to detect a change of capacitance caused by a touch. It is also disclosed a method for operating a stretchable touchpad (10) comprising the steps of measuring continuously a capacitance analog signal provided by a resistive strain gauge (30, 40) of the stretchable touchpad (10); and comparing the measured capacitance signal with a threshold value in order to determine whether or not a touch has taken place, wherein the threshold value is continuously adjusted as a function of the actual measurement of capacitance and as a function of the resistance of said resistive strain gauges (30, 40) which form the capacitor electrodes of said touchpad (10).

Abstract: Provided is a process for forming a composite textile article that includes a biopolymer layer. The process includes providing a textile and contacting at least part of the textile with a culture comprising biopolymer-producing microorganisms and culturing the biopolymer-producing microorganisms to obtain a biopolymer layer on the textile. A silicone softening agent is provided to at least part of the biopolymer layer to obtain a composite textile, wherein the silicone comprises macro-silicone, semi-micro silicone, micro-silicone or nano-silicone. The composite textile article may be an elastic woven fabric or an elastic denim garment.
