The method includes obtaining a first image containing an abnormality using a first modality, obtaining a second image containing the abnormality using-a second modality, selecting a first region of interest located within the first image, determining an anatomical size of the abnormality based on the first region of interest in the first image, and determining a relative metabolic activity based on a second region of interest within the second image.

    摘要: The invention is directed to a method and apparatus for timing calibration in a PET scanner. According to one embodiment, the invention relates to a method for timing calibration in a PET scanner having a plurality of scintillator blocks. The method comprises: detecting, in a first scintillator block, a first radiation event, wherein the first scintillator block time-stamps the first radiation event; detecting, in a second scintillator block that is adjacent to the first scintillator block, a second radiation event that corresponds to the first radiation event, wherein the second scintillator block time-stamps the second radiation event; and determining a timing characteristic of the first scintillator block with respect to the second scintillator block based on a comparison between the time-stamps of the first radiation event and the second radiation event.

    摘要: A method is provided for acquiring digital x-ray images. Scan parameters designating slices of interest from a patient anatomy are identified. The travel distance and the speed of the x-ray tube and the detector are determined from the scan parameters. The patient is scanned in a first direction to obtain a first x-ray image utilizing a servo-tomo function based on the scan parameters. The image is saved in an image storage device and is displayed. The patient is scanned in a second direction to obtain a second x-ray image utilizing the servo-tomo function based on the scan parameters. The image is saved and displayed simultaneously with the first image in a multi-image format. After each scan, the operator may modify the scan parameters designating a slice of interest before initiating the next scan.

    摘要: Image artifacts produced by residual magnetization in elements of the gradient field amplifier system are reduced by driving the residual magnetization to a preselected value at the end of each imaging pulse sequence. Reset gradient pulses are produced by the gradient field amplifier system after each signal is acquired to drive the residual magnetization to a selected value. A number of different reset gradient waveforms may be used, and they may be produced in a number of different ways.
