    摘要: A method for simultaneously fabricating a phase separated organic film and microstructures with liquid crystal having desired alignment is disclosed. The method includes the step of preparing a mixture of liquid crystal material, prepolymer, and polarization-sensitive material. The mixture is disposed on a substrate and a combination of UV or visible light or heat treatment is applied while simultaneously inducing phase separation so as to form a layer or microstructure of appropriately aligned liquid crystal material adjacent the substrate.

    摘要: A non-contacting method of forming an alignment layer on a substrate used in liquid crystal displays which includes the steps of cleaning a substrate surface, disposing a solution having a prepolymer, such as polyamic acid or a resin and a curing agent, and solvent on the substrate surface, evaporating the solvent, and positioning an ultraviolet light source proximally near the substrate surface. A linear polarizer is positioned between the ultraviolet light source and the substrate surface. Ultraviolet light is projected through the polarizer onto the substrate surface to simultaneously molecularly align the polymer segments as the prepolymer is polymerized to form an alignment layer on the substrate. Adjusting the direction of polarization and the angle of incidence of the ultraviolet light source allows for generation of an alignment layer with a corresponding pre-tilt angle.

    摘要: This invention relates to methods of building rigid or flexible arrays of electro-optic devices. A phase separated composite structure technique yields adjacent regions of polymer and liquid crystal (LC) of specific architecture instead of a random dispersion of LC droplets. The above devices can be prepared by producing volutes of LC structure (56) next to a polymer area (58) using anisotropic phase separation of LC from a photopolymer. Initial by UV exposure. The shape, size and placement of these regions inside a cell becomes easily controllable with using optical mask or laser beam. The boundaries of LC volume can be controlled by controlling the chemical composition of the polymer and using an alignment layer (28).

    摘要: The present invention relates to a display device and a method for manufacturing the display device. The display device includes at least one partition formed on a lower display panel. A color filter may fill a region defined by the partitions. A first upper passivation layer is formed on the color filter, and a second upper passivation layer is formed on the first upper passivation layer and the partitions such that the LCD structure is planarized. In the display device, the height of the partition is sufficiently high to prevent mixing of the colors of neighboring pixel filters, and the process margin of the spacer and the light blocking member may be ensured. The partitions can be formed with multiple layers having different widths such that the mixture of colors between the neighboring pixels may be prevented, and the color reproducibility may be increased.

    摘要: Disclosed is a lateral flow quantitative assay method capable of quantitatively determining the concentration and analyzing the spatial distribution of a disease marker by employing the principle of the laser-induced fluorescence detection technique, which is based on detecting emitted fluorescence when laser light is focused to the disease marker deposited onto a lateral flow quantitative assay chip. The present invention discloses a strip, a laser-induced epifluorescence detection device and a small scanner for the assay method. The present assay method is advantageous in terms of allowing quantitative point-of-care diagnostics in hospitals, being capable of specifically detecting a disease marker by optimizing a lateral flow assay biochip for diagnosis of a specific disease, allowing more accurate quantitative analysis of analytes, and being capable of simultaneously analyzing several cancer markers, reducing the hook effect and expanding the detection range and accurately measuring concentration of analytes.
