    摘要: Provided are a 2D (2-dimensional)/3D (3-dimensional) display apparatus using a scanning backlight and a method of controlling the same. The apparatus sequentially includes a backlight which is capable of scanning and irradiating polarized light, a retarder which transmits light emitted from the backlight as phase-maintained light and phase-delayed light, a lenticular array which transmits light from the retarder as directional light, and a display panel which displays an inputted image and which is illuminated by light being transmitted through the lenticular array. The backlight includes a plurality of light guide plates which are independently disposed and arranged in parallel with one another, a plurality of light sources which are provided for the respective light guide plates and emit light, and a plurality of polarization filters which are arranged in front of the respective light guide plates. The scanning frequency of the backlight is synchronized with the input frequency of the input frames so that an illumination function and a scanning function are simultaneously performed using one backlight, a 2D image and a 3D image are efficiently displayed and crosstalk is reduced.

    摘要: A 3D display device and method using a hybrid position-tracking system is provided, along with a method for displaying the 3D image. The 3D display device includes a main body, a display, a camera, a first calculation part, a gyroscope, a second calculation part, and a Kalman filter. The display provides a 3D image and the first calculation part calculates a relative posture change of the display with respect to a viewing position on the basis of the image photographed by the camera. The gyroscope is mounted in the main body to sense a change in an angular velocity of the display. The second calculation part calculates a relative posture change of the display and the Kalman filter receives the calculation results obtained by the first and second calculation parts to calculate a corrected-posture-change amount of the display.

    摘要: A 2D/3D switchable display device includes a light source unit; a polarization switching unit for switching light from the light source unit to one of first polarized light and second polarized light, which is perpendicular to the first polarized light; a parallax barrier including slits and barriers that are alternately arranged, wherein the slits transmit incident light and the barriers transmit one of the first and second polarized light and reflect the other of the first and second polarized light; and a display panel for modulating light transmitted through the parallax barrier in response to an image signal to create an image. The 2D/3D switchable display device controls an electric signal applied to the polarization switching unit so that a 2D image and a 3D image are switched to each other.

    摘要: Provided are a 2D (2-dimensional)/3D (3-dimensional) display apparatus using a scanning backlight and a method of controlling the same.     摘要: A multi-channel imaging system that allows multiple viewers to simultaneously see different images in full-screen on a single screen includes: a mode selector which selects a general 2D mode, a multi-channel 2D mode, or a 3D mode; a source selector which provides an image from at least one channel; a conversion unit which interlaces two images received from the source selector so that they alternate with each other when the multi-channel mode or the 3D mode is selected; a display which displays the alternating two images received from the conversion unit so that they have orthogonal polarizations; 3D polarizing glasses which provide a different image to the left eye and to the right eye when the 3D mode is selected; and a pair of multi-channel polarizing glasses each of which provides a user with only one of two images being displayed when the a multi-channel 2D mode is selected.
