    摘要: The invention relates to a novel composition for improving the accommodation capability of an intraocular lens (IOL). In one embodiment, the composition can be injected into the capsular bag where it surrounds an implanted IOL anchoring the IOL to the capsular bag. Alternatively, for anterior chamber IOLs, the composition can be injected into the bag behind the lens. The material has a refractive index similar to that of aqueous thereby reducing any potential interference with the implanted IOL. Accommodation is provided by the mixture of the crosslinked composition caused by the flexing of the muscles. The novel composition is particularly useful in enhancing accommodation for adjustable intraocular lenses.

    摘要: After surgical removal of the natural lens, a capsular equatorial ring may be implanted in the opened capsular bag of the eye in order to extend radially the equator of the capsular bag. Surprisingly, with a sharp edged formation of the junctions between the outer circumference and end faces of the ring, or with an axially wide outer circumferential surface, the probability of postoperative migrations of subcapsular epithelium cells on the capsular bag is significantly reduced.

    摘要: An intraocular lens system adapted to be implanted within a generally circular opening in an anterior wall of the capsular bag which normally contains the crystalline lens of an eye. The intraocular lens system includes a lens body having an annular groove which is formed in a peripheral portion thereof in a plane substantially perpendicular to an optical axis of the lens body. The lens body includes an optically effective portion located radially inside the annular groove, and an anterior lens portion and a posterior lens portion located on respective anterior and posterior sides of the annular groove. The intraocular lens system is secured in position within the circular opening such that an annular flap portion of the capsular bag which surrounds the circular opening is accommodated within the annular groove in the lens body.
