    摘要： A recording apparatus such as a facsimile apparatus comprises a first control unit to perform a control regarding the generation of dot data, a second control unit for controlling the recording operation, a fan to reduce a temperature in the apparatus, a heat fixing device having a heater, and detectors such as thermistors for detecting temperatures at a plurality of positions near the fixing device. Each of the first and second control units generates a first control signal to control the rotation of the fan on the basis of detection outputs from the thermistors. The heat fixing device has a cylindrical endless film made by polyimide or the like whose inner surface is come into contact with the heater and a pressure roller which is come into contact with the outside of the endless film. A recording paper is sandwiched between the film and the pressure roller and passes therebetween.

The apparatus counts the number of detected second line synchronizing signals in accordance with a detection by said first detector, and determines a quality of the received image data in accordance with that number of the second line synchronizing signals. In particular, the apparatus counts the number of the second line synchronizing signals detected between one first line synchronizing signal and a next first line synchronizing signal.

    摘要： A facsimile apparatus having a multi-output recording mode for producing a plurality of sets of output record of the received data. The multi-output recording mode is selectively prohibited when the number of the recording paper sheets remaining in the facsimile apparatus has become small, so that as many communications as possible can be recorded. The facsimile apparatus has a recognizing device for recognizing the number of recording sheets remaining therein, and a control unit which performs such a control that, when the number of the sheets recognized by the recognizing device has come down below a predetermined value, only one set of the output record is produced, even when a communication designated for the multi-output recording has been selected. An indication circuit is provided to enable indication of the fact that, although multi-output recording was planned initially, only one set of output record has been produced due to a shortage of the recording sheets. The indication is added to the received image data or to the data to be output as the communication result report.

    摘要： In an image communication apparatus for communicating a color image with a distant apparatus according to the ITU-T recommendations upon line connection, an original image is read by a scanner unit, and the size of the read original image is identified. If the identified size of the original image is smaller than the page size defined by the ITU-U recommendation, image data is generated by reading the original image upon adding invalid data to the original image to make it have a main scanning length equal to the main scanning length of the minimum page size defined by the ITU-T recommendation in reading the original image through the scanner unit, and the image data is compressed by a JPEG compressing unit and transmitted. In this case, the valid image area of the compressed data is set in accordance with the size of the original image. This allows the receiving side to read only the valid image area, decode the valid image area, and reproduce the image.
