摘要： A data recording and reproducing apparatus has facilities for recording and reproducing, inputting and outputting, and editing data and can perform edits by itself. The data recording and reproducing apparatus records AV data inputted from an input port on HDDs by using a recorder and reproducer, and outputs data reproduced from HDDs by the recorder and reproducer through an output port. In an editor inputted is data inputted from outside and data reproduced by the recorder and reproducer. The editor performs edits on at least either of the data above by using a matrix switcher and an audio mixer provided therein. A special effector is utilized as necessary. The editor can output data obtained through editing processing to a switch.

To this end, the apparatus recording and/or reproducing includes a unit for recording and/or reproducing data for a non-linear accessible recording medium, at least one input port and at least one output port. The input port and the output port time-divisionally access the recording and/or reproducing unit to process the data inputted to the input port to output the processed data to the recording and/or reproducing a unit. The data reproduced from the recording and/or reproducing unit is processed by and outputted from the output port. The apparatus also includes a port actuation button for selecting the input and output ports, an actuation selection button for selecting recording or playback for the input port or the output port as selected by the port actuation button, and a controller for performing control so that the recording operation or the playback operation as selected by the actuation selection button will be executed by the input port or the output port as selected by the port actuation button.

摘要： The A/V server manages data to be edited in the form of edit data pages (will be referred to as “page” herebelow) and program as a collection of the pages. The page data include recorder- and player-side device names, file names and edition points per page. The data in all the pages are collected as a program. A page number to identify each page is represented by a sequence of information assigned in the produced order in each page. The A/V server changes only the page number in the temporal order of the IN points in the destination data and produces a program in which the page data are re-arranged. Also when re-accessing near the same material data recorded in a VTR, the A/V server accesses data recorded in the HDD, not in the VTR.
