摘要: Ultraviolet light shielding articles are provided. An ultraviolet light shielding article includes a flexible substrate having a major surface and a multilayer optical film disposed on the major surface of the substrate. The multilayer optical film is comprised of at least a plurality of alternating first and second inorganic optical layers collectively reflecting and absorbing at an incident light angle of at least one of 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, or 75°, an average of at least 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, or 95 percent of incident ultraviolet light over at least a 30-nanometer wavelength reflection bandwidth in a wavelength range from 190 nanometers (nm) to 400 nm. Solar cell covers including an ultraviolet shielding articles are also provided.

摘要: A method for coating a plurality of optical lenses having at least one main surface at least partly covered with lenslets, the method comprising: —dipping (DIP) at least one first optical lens from the plurality of optical lenses into a coating fluid, —withdrawing (WDW) the at least one first optical lens from the coating fluid at a controlled withdrawal speed, —measuring (MEAS) a thickness of a coating layer deposited on the at least one first optical lens, —determining (ADJ) an adjusted withdrawal speed based on the measured thickness, and —repeating the steps of dipping (DIP), withdrawing (WDW), measuring (MEAS) and determining (ADJ) on at least other optical lenses from the plurality of optical lenses, using the adjusted withdrawal speed during the withdrawing step (WDW).

摘要: A system and method are provided for forming electromagnetic energy transmissive layers, which are particularly configured to selectively scatter specific and selectable wavelengths of electromagnetic energy, while allowing remaining wavelengths to pass therethrough. Processes are provided by which to form, or otherwise incorporate, one or more energy scattering layers, including uniquely implementing optical light scattering techniques in such energy scattering layers, and to objects, object portions, wall plates, lenses, filters, screens and the like that are formed of, or that otherwise incorporate, such transmissive energy-scattering layers. Refractive indices of particles fixed in a matrix are tunable in order that the finished layers provide an opaque appearance when viewed from an energy-incident excited by light in the visible spectrum. A color, pattern, texture or image of the scattering layer may be rendered according to an individual user's desires, the layers being substantially-transparent to light passing through layers.
