摘要:
A speech message recording and reproducing method and apparatus wherein a speech message associated with a facsimile transmission is stored in a communication apparatus having an automatic answering telephone apparatus associated with a facsimile apparatus. Information of the speech apparatus including at least a storage address thereof is converted to an optical pattern for printing on a recording paper. The printed optical pattern is optically detected, interpreted and transmitted by radio communication to the communication apparatus and the speech message stored at the storage address is reproduced. The optical pattern is read by a reader forming part of a portable telephone unit.

A communication system which includes a receiving section having a frequency convertor for converting a received signal into an intermediate frequency signal by mixing with a local oscillation signal, and a demodulator for demodulating the received signal converted into the intermediate frequency signal, a transmission section for modulating a transmission signal received thereby, to transmit the so modulated signal, and an input/output section for receiving the demodulated signal from the receiving section and outputting it externally and receiving the transmission signal externally and outputting it to the transmission section. The receiving section includes a local oscillator for generating the local oscillation signal, reference frequency generator for generating a reference signal, calibration signal generator for generating a calibration signal having a predetermined frequency based upon the reference signal, to input the calibration signal to the frequency converter, counter for counting the frequency of the intermediate frequency signal, and corrector for detecting a frequency error based upon the counted value of the intermediate frequency signal. The frequency converter converts the calibration signal into the intermediate frequency signal by mixing with the local oscillation frequency. The counter counts the frequency of the calibration signal converted by the frequency converter as the intermediate frequency signal. The corrector detects the frequency error from a frequency difference between the counted value of the calibration signal and a predetermined intermediate frequency reference value, thereby generating a signal for frequency correction based upon the thus detected frequency error.

The number of oscillators required to construct a digital radiocommunication terminal can be reduced and a circuit used for the digital radiocommunication terminal can be reduced in size. For this purpose, the digital radiocommunication terminal for effecting information transmission using an N (integer)-phase-shift-keyed signal (identification symbol number N=4 upon .pi./4 shifted QPSK modulation), is constructed such that an oscillation frequency generated from a reference oscillator employed with a frequency synthesizer is selected to have a common multiple of a second intermediate frequency and an identification symbol phase N and is supplied to a detector for outputting received data therefrom.

A mobile communications equipment which communicates with another equipment through a base station, and in which the state change of the mobile communications equipment based on the movement thereof, such as the movement from outside a service area into the service area, is detected and is notified to the user of the mobile communications equipment. The notification is given by a method comprising the steps of accepting an instruction as to whether or not the user is to be notified that the state change has occurred between a state in which the equipment is communicable and a state in which it is incommunicable; analyzing if the communications are possible, on the basis of a signal sent from the base station, subject to the instruction of giving the notification; detecting the state change from the incommunicable state into the communicable state on the basis of the analyzed result; and notifying the user of the occurrence of the state change into the communicable state in response to the detection of the state change, by at least one notifying expedient selected from among production of a voice message, a notifying sound, a notifying light, and vibrations.

A receiver for the CDMA system which reduces power consumption during a suspension period of intermittent receiving operation by monitoring a suspension period by a low-power timer so that a VC-TCXO, reference signal group generation and receiving units are turned off and a modem unit is set to a sleep state. Upon resumption of receiving operation, a high-accuracy timer is started to count a time period and part of a received signal is stored. A PN code phase of stored data is calculated during the time period to obtain an indication value for phase deviation. State vectors for short and long codes and a further reception time are calculated based on the indication value. When the high-accuracy timer counts the time period and produces 0V(d), demodulation operation by a rake demodulation, demultiplexing, and descrambler units is started and is continued during the reception time.

There is disclosed a handoff control method for registering a CDMA mobile station in such a way that battery power wastage is prevented if successive attempts to register the station fail. If it is judged that registration fails (step S106), idle handoff is inhibited (step S107). The mobile station shifts to a registration-waiting sleep mode (step S108 and state ST10) in which the sending and receiving operation of the mobile station is paused for a given time. When a sleep timer that is set in the step S108 times out, registration is resumed under certain conditions. On resumption, a new pilot signal is acquired.
