    摘要: A programmable read-only memory supplied with power at a specified voltage has word-line drivers that drive the word lines of the memory-cell array to the same potential, regardless of whether the specified voltage has a first value or a second value. This effect is achieved by using different types of transistors to drive the word lines, depending on the specified voltage. As a result, the same memory-cell array, the same programming voltages, and the same wafer process can be used for memories operating at either of the two specified voltage values. Consequently, less time and effort are needed to design memories for different power-supply voltages.

    摘要: A magnetic-resonance imaging apparatus has superconducting magnets for generating a large uniform magnetic field within a predetermined volume. Within that volume, coils for generating magnetic field gradients are supported on a bobbin, enabling an object within the bobbin to be investigated. The coils on the bobbin are subject to forces but are rigidly connected to the bobbin. Therefore, energy is transmitted to the bobbin which can cause the bobbin to vibrate and so generate noise. To dissipate that energy, the coils are attached to tubes, or other hollow members, on the bobbin, which tubes or hollow members contain movable bodies such as particulate material. The energy due to the forces on the coils cause the movable bodies to move and collide, so dissipating the energy and reducing the noise.

    摘要: An internal step-down power supply circuit improves response performance (transition from a standby state to an active state in particular) of a system, without increasing current consumption. The internal step-down power supply circuit includes an output node for outputting an internal step-down power-supply potential; a driver for adjusting an external power-supply potential VDD and supplying it to the output node; a divider circuit for dividing a voltage developed at the output node and outputting the divided voltage; and a differential amplifier for comparing the divided voltage and a reference voltage. The differential amplifier outputs a voltage equivalent to twice a predetermined gain. The operational amplifier sets the conductance of first transistors for feeding a current responsive to the reference voltage to twice or more the conductance of second transistors for feeding a current responsive to the divided voltage.
