Abstract:
An anti-collision system detects conditions of an object preceding a source vehicle, and parameters indicative of operating conditions of the source vehicle, and controls the source vehicle so as to prevent a collision with the object, based on the detected conditions of the object and the detected operating conditions of the source vehicle. The system estimates a path of travel of the source vehicle, based on the detected parameters, and sets an area of travel of the source vehicle to a first predetermined area lying about the estimated path of travel. Further, the system estimates a path of movement of the object, based on the detected conditions of the object, and sets an area of movement of the object to a second predetermined area lying the estimated path of movement. The system calculates a possibility of collision, based on the set area of travel and area of movement, to thereby control the velocity of the source vehicle.
Abstract:
An AC generator control status detecting device having an AC generator with a plurality of stator coils, a field coil and a plurality of rectifying diodes connected to the stator coils; a regulator connected to the field coil to control field current; a field current state output terminal connected to the junction of the field coil and the regulator; and a current limiting element between the junction and the field current state output terminal. Normal operation of the generator is maintained even when the field current state output terminal is short-circuited to ground.
Abstract:
Apparatus for opening and closing a retractable head lamp which includes a hand operated switch for effecting lighting and unlighting of the head lamp and initiating opening and closing movements of the head lamp, motor for driving a retracting mechanism for opening and closing the head lamp and a detector for detecting a desired position (opened and/or closed) of the head lamp and for selectively stopping energization of the motor when the head lamp reaches a desired position. A control means is connected between the hand switch and the detecting means and is responsive to operation of the hand switch from a lighting position substantially instantaneously to an unlighting position to prevent energization of the motor, thereby preventing closing of the previously opened head lamp. The control means is also responsive to operation of the hand switch from an unlighting position substantially instantaneously to a lighting position thereof to energize the motor and to maintain energization of the motor until the retractable head lamp is driven to its fully opened position, thereby preventing stopping of the retractable head lamp at a partially open position. The control means preferably comprises a transistor switching circuit with an RC timer.
Abstract:
A steering assist system in a vehicle, wherein the traveling of a vehicle along a reference lane can be realized by applying a reference induction force determined in accordance with the magnitude and direction of a deviation of the subject vehicle from a reference target course (zone) established within the reference lane, and moreover, the lane change can be easily and naturally performed by a driver. A second target course (zone) is established in a second lane along which the vehicle travels after the lane change. A second induction force applied to a steering means to realize the traveling of the vehicle along the second lane is set in accordance with the magnitude and direction of a deviation of the subject vehicle from the second target course (zone). The reference target course (zone) and the second target course (zone) are connected in a connection course (zone) in which the force applied from a driving means to the steering means during the lane change is substantially "0".
Abstract:
An oxygen concentration detection system includes an oxygen sensor unit sensitive to oxygen in ambient oxygen-containing gases, an activating current supply operative to supply an activating current to the oxygen sensor unit. The oxygen sensor unit is responsive to the activating current and operative to produce a sensor signal voltage variable with the concentration of oxygen in the oxygen-containing gases. A reference signal generator produces a predetermined reference signal, the activating current supply means is responsive to the reference signal for producing the activating current. A current limiting circuit limits the oxygen concentration below a predetermined value which is variable with one of the activating current and the sensor signal voltage.
Abstract:
An oxygen concentration sensing device for sensing an oxygen concentration in a gaseous body includes a pair of solid electrolyte members having oxygen ion permeability which are arranged to face each other forming a predetermined gap portion between them. Each of the solid electrolyte members is provided with a pair of electrodes and one of the solid electrolyte members is operative as an oxygen pump element when a drive current is supplied across the electrodes thereof and the other one of the solid electrolyte members is operative as a sensor cell element for producing a sensor output signal. The sensing device is provided with a current supply circuit for supplying the drive current of the oxygen pump element and a delay control circuit for delaying the increase of the magnitude of drive current of the oxygen pump element at a start time, so as to prevent an overcurrent to the oxygen pump element which otherwise is generated by the current supply circuit and causes the so called blackening phenomenon of the solid electrolyte members.
