    摘要: Resins for printing ink and particularly offset ink, are produced by reacting a resin obtained by heat polymerizing at least one of cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene or their alkyl substituted derivatives with 1-3 carbons and an unsaturated alcohol or unsaturated alcohol ester of an organic acid at a temperature of 150-350.degree. C. in the presence or in the absence of an inert hydrocarbon solvent with a higher monohydric saturated fatty acid or higher monohydric unsaturated fatty acid or their mixtures to produce a resin having a softening point of 100.degree. C or more.

    摘要: A method for producing a resin for printing ink, which comprises reacting a dicylopentadiene resin with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride, the proportion of the unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride being 0.01 to 0.5 mol per 100 g of the dicyclopentadiene resin, and then esterifying the acid-modified resin so obtained with an aliphatic monohydric alcohol in an amount of 0.2 to 2.0 mols per mol of the unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride used in the reaction.

    摘要: According to the present invention, there is disclosed a process for producing a novel resin which comprises the step of copolymerizing a five-member cyclic compound (component A) having a conjugated double bond and represented by the general formula (A) given below: ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; m and n are zero or integers not less than 1 and are in the relation of m+n=6; and/or a Diels-Alder addition product thereof (A) with a co-dimer (component B) of said five-member cyclic compound and 1,3-butadiene by heating a mixture of 20 to 90 parts by weight of said component A and 80 to 10 parts by weight of said component B at a temperature of from 200.degree. C. to 350.degree. C. Also disclosed are a process for hydrogenating said novel resin to produce a novel hydrogenated resin and resin compositions containing said hydrogenated resin.

    摘要: According to the invention there is provided a hot melt composition comprising (A) a hydrogenated resin having a softening point ranging from 60.degree. C. to 130.degree. C., said hydrogenated resin (A) being prepared by hydrogenating a resin at a hydrogenation percentage of aromatic rings of from 10 to 90%, said resin being prepared by copolymerizing at least two components comprising (a) 100 parts by weight of cyclopentadiene or its derivative selected from the group consisting of cyclopentadiene and dicyclopentadiene and an alkyl substituent thereof and (b) 5 to 50 parts by weight of indene or its derivative selected from the group consisting of indene and an alkyl substituent thereof and (B) one or more compound selected from the group consisting of ethylene-unsaturated ester copolymers, polyester resins and waxes.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a printing ink composition containing the reaction product of 5 to 100 parts by weight of a phenolic resin and about 100 parts by weight of a resin modified with an acid. The phenolic resin is prepared by condensing an appropriate 4-9 carbon alkylphenol with formalin. The modified resin is prepared by reacting 1 to 15 parts by weight of an appropriate unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or anhydride with about 100 parts by weight of the reaction product of 5 to 100 parts by weight straight-chain .alpha.-olefin with about 100 parts by weight of an appropriate pentacyclic compound, such as cyclopentadiene and/or dicyclopentadiene.

C. and containing at least one C.sub.5 acyclic conjugated diolefin in an amount of 10 to 35 wt. % of the distillate, the distillate being derived from a fraction obtained as a by-product at the time of cracking petroleum, reacting said hydrocarbon distillate with an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid in a specified weight ratio and then saponifying the thus obtained acid-modified hydrocarbon distillate with an alkali thereby to obtain the paper size.
