    摘要: Disclosed is a guide member of a multiple spindle attachment employed in drilling and tapping machines, which guide member is adapted to guide a plurality of spindle holders that mount drills or taps, and comprises a guide member body fixed to a fitting flange of the multiple spindle attachment frame, a plurality of guide channels formed in the guide member body for guiding the spindle holders, and a disk-shaped positioning member for positioning each of the guided spindle holders. The guide member body is disposed such that its center is located on the central axis of the multiple spindle attachment frame when in the attached state, and each of the guide channels extend linearly outwardly in a radial direction about the center of the guide member body. The arrangement is such that the distances from the central axis of the multiple spindle attachment body to each of the drills or taps are set equally by abutting the inward end of each spindle holder against the outer peripheral surface of the positioning member which can be interchanged with another positioning member of a different diameter.

An upper gear coupling member is secured at the lower end of a quill housing a main rotary spindle for a drilling machine, etc. A clamp member is rotatably provided on the gear coupling member. A lower gear coupling member for engaging with the upper gear coupling member is secured on the upper surface of the multispindle attachment installed at the lower end of the quill. Both of these gear coupling members are tightened and secured by means of the clamp member while both of the upper and lower gear coupling members are engaged with each other.

    摘要: An exchange chuck for exchangeably mounting a tool shank adapted for mounting a tool such as drill or tap. The tool shank is inserted to and fastened in a mounting bore formed in a tubular portion of a spindle. A movable sleeve is received on the tubular portion for movement longitudinally thereof, and plural balls are provided to the tubular portion so as to be intruded into or receded from said bore with movement of the movable sleeve, said balls operating to engage with and prevent extraction of the tool shank when intruded into the bore. An ejector member is received in the bottom region of the bore and biased forwardly at all times by a coil spring for extruding the tool shank forwardly at the time of exchange operation of the tool shank. The forward outer periphery of the ejector member is formed with an undercut annular groove contiguous to an engagement step operating to engage with the radially inner surfaces of the balls to prevent accidental extraction of the ejector member in the forward direction.

    摘要: A multi-spindle head attachment in which a positively rotated main spindle gear is meshed with a plurality of intermediate gears which are, in turn, meshed with spindle gears fitted respectively onto spindles each adapted to grip a drill, a tap or the like. Further, one of the spindles can be located in the position where its axis is aligned with the center of axis of the main spindle gear. Disc-like interference preventing members for preventing interference between the intermediate gears and the spindle gears, are provided to the intermediate gears and/or the spindle gears. Each interference preventing member has a diameter slightly larger than that of its corresponding addendum circle of the intermediate gear or spindle gear, and therefore its outer peripheral surface protrudes from the addendum circle of each gear. A slight gap is formed between each interference preventing member and the end face of each gear.
