Abstract:
An inexpensive shop tool attachment for forming a set of precisely aligned holes in a work pierce where the shop tool attachment mounts to and receives power and mobility from the shop tool.
Abstract:
An in line drilling device for boring holes an equal distance from one another in wood, plastic or metal, comprising a set of geared together shafts equipped with drilling bits. The bit holder shafts are guided by bearings housed in a frame biased upwardly by springs. The fully compressed springs act to limit the extent of projection of the drill bits into a workpiece.
Abstract:
A hand-held automatic drilling machine includes an expandable locating collet or locating pin, a pair of adjustably mounted drill bits for simultaneously drilling a pair of spaced-apart openings in a workpiece and a rotary drive motor for the drill bits. The machine also includes a first drive assembly for activating the expandable collet and a second drive assembly for advancing the drill bits into the workpiece. An adjustable dashpot provides resistance to the second drive assembly, thereby controlling the force applied to the drill bits and thus the feed rate. A bi-stable control valve commences the drilling cycle in one state and sequentially activates the first drive assembly and the second drive assembly. A full depth sensor moves the control valve to the opposite state, sequentially deactivating the second drive assembly and the first drive assembly.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a drill head having removable spindles. The spindles include a shaft adapted for receiving and rotating a drill. The shaft is also removably rotatable with the drilling unit. A mechanism for providing a coolant to the workpiece is coupled with the spindle.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for eliminating leakage spaces between the partitions (1) surrounding the core of a pressurized water nuclear reactor, after it is brought into operation. Operations are carried out under water, during shutdown of the reactor. The defective joins (12) between the partitions (1) are identified. For each join, the partitions (1) are pierced, the hole inside a partition (1) is screw-threaded, the swarf is recovered, a screw with diametrical expansion is introduced and screwed into the hole and the screw is expanded by displacement of a rod in the longitudinal direction of the screw. Moving location, the operations are repeated for each defective join (12). The apparatus comprises a case (25) containing a drum (36) bearing tools for boring (54-65), screw-threading, and screwing, a cleaning tube and a punch for locking the screw.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a structure for installing a multispindle attachment on a drilling machine or the like. An upper gear coupling member is secured at the lower end of a quill housing a main rotary spindle for a drilling machine, etc. A clamp member is rotatably provided on the gear coupling member. A lower gear coupling member for engaging with the upper gear coupling member is secured on the upper surface of the multispindle attachment installed at the lower end of the quill. Both of these gear coupling members are tightened and secured by means of the clamp member while both of the upper and lower gear coupling members are engaged with each other.
Abstract:
A multi-spindle drilling or reaming unit has a plurality of spindles which are individually removable and replaceable. Hitherto, damage to one spindle necessitated complete replacement of the whole unit. Each spindle has angular contact thrustaccommodating bearings (or other bearings capable of sharing thrust loads) and means, for example a sleeve are provided for locking the inner or outer race of each bearing when the associated spindle is secured in its bore by a retaining flange and bolts.
