摘要: An electronic timepiece with a calendar display function that drives a piezo-electric actuator to drive a rotation of a piezo-electric rotor, and stops the drive of the piezo-electric actuator when the amount of the piezo-electric rotor advances is detected by a spring switch. Photoreflectors are used for day detection accomplished using gears having a small speed reduction ratio relative to the piezo-electric rotor, and spring switches are used in month detection and year detection.

摘要: In an electronic device 1 comprising a battery 200 and a piezoelectric actuator A, a power source voltage before drive control is started is maintained by a sample holding circuit 102, a reference voltage is set by a reference voltage generating circuit 103 on the basis of the power source voltage, and a control circuit 106 stops driving when the power source voltage falls below a drive stop voltage as compared by a second comparison circuit 105, and begins driving the piezoelectric actuator A again when the power source voltage exceeds the reference voltage as compared by a first comparison circuit 104. Therefore, the device can be more easily reduced in size by using a small power source, and the driving time can be markedly reduced using an intermittent driving procedure that corresponds to the conditions of the battery voltage.

摘要: To provide a piezoelectric actuator whereby impact resistance can be greatly improved without complicating the design or causing a reduction in drive efficiency. When a piezoelectric actuator 31 is incorporated into a main plate 14, an arm part 513 of a vibrator 50 is disposed across from a protrusion 144 via spaces SP1, SP2 having specific dimensions. With the presence of these spaces SP1, SP2, a free end FR moves freely within the spaces SP1, SP2 during driving, but a vibrating part 511 is captured at the free end FR by the protrusion 144 when external impact is applied, and the vibrating part 511 can therefore be prevented from moving beyond the dimensions of the spaces. Resistance against impact from falling can thereby be easily and greatly improved without reducing the drive efficiency, and the usual difficulty of reconciling both drive efficiency and impact resistance can be resolved.

摘要: A display device that prevents display jumping and corrects the display that includes a displaying transmission wheel which is meshed with a drive wheel and a displaying follower wheel is pressed by a spring toward the area between the drive wheel and the displaying follower wheel so as to elastically take up the play between the drive wheel and the displaying follower wheel. During feeding, the displaying follower wheel is positioned by the displaying transmission wheel. If a crown is pulled out and rotated, the displaying follower wheel is rapid-fed and corrects the display without the aid of the drive wheel and the displaying transmission wheel. At the same time, however, the displaying transmission wheel receives a force in the direction in which it is pressed out of a gap, whereby the engagement with the displaying follower wheel is released.

摘要: An analog indication type electronic timepiece includes a power generation device for transforming kinetic energy produced by motions of a user into electric energy and for causing the electric energy to output from a magnetic coil as an electric charging energy; a secondary power source charged by said electric charging energy; a timepiece circuit driven by a charged energy from said secondary power source to output motor drive pulses; and a drive motor including a drive coil and a drive rotor rotatably driven when the drive coil is energized by said motor drive pulses. This analog indication type electronic timepiece further includes an anti-overcharging device forming a bypass circuit for causing said electric charging energy to bypass relative to said secondary power source when the voltage at said secondary power source reaches a predetermined level, thereby preventing the overcharging to the secondary power source; and a current limiting device for forcedly limiting the bypass current flowing through said bypass circuit when the motor drive pulses are being output from said timepiece circuit, whereby an accurate analog time indication can be made while preventing a malfunction in the drive motor during the anti-overcharging operation to the secondary power source.

摘要: Portable electronic equipment includes a carried-by-user detector for detecting whether the electronic equipment is in a state carried by a user or not. When the electronic equipment is in a state not carried by the user, i.e., when the user is not employing the electronic equipment, an operating mode is shifted from a normal operating mode to a power saving mode to reduce power consumption of the electronic equipment. Useless consumption of power during non-use of the electronic equipment can be thus reduced. Further, in electronic equipment (timepiece) incorporating a power generator for generating power by converting first energy (motion, pressure or heat) into electric energy as second energy, whether the power generator is generating power, i.e., whether the electronic equipment is carried by the user, is detected by a power generation detecting circuit, and when a non-power-generation time exceeds a predetermined time, the operating mode is shifted to the power saving mode, thereby reducing power consumption. Accordingly, the electronic equipment (timepiece) can be provided with which when the electronic equipment is in the state not carried by the user or when the electronic equipment is in the state not carried by the user and in a state of not generating power, the operating mode of the electronic equipment is shifted to the power saving mode and energy can be saved without inconveniencing the user.
