    摘要： A Digital Guide System (DGS) assembles and delivers contextual, narrative content information to an end-user requiring a guided or self-guided tour of a physical space. DGS consists of a Content Management System application (CMS), a Channel Administration application (CA), a Content Repository (CR) and a Channel Device application (CDA). CMS allows developers to build content information in discrete narratives using a modular story-building methodology. The CMS stores all information relevant to editorial control and content development in the CR. The CA is a browser-based registration and device management application that delivers content information to devices in channels designated for that content information by the CMS. The CDA allows the user to navigate through the content information using the modular story based organization and collects usage information in a user log for transmittal to the CA.

    摘要： Methods and arrangements for controlling audio levels according to user selectable features are disclosed. The system can receive a user selection for an alternate mode for audio device. A monitor can monitor audio levels in a physical area and the system can automatically switch an audio device from a current mode to the alternate mode when the monitored audio level exceeds a predetermined threshold. The alternate mode can provide a higher audio level or volume than the current mode. The alternate mode can also be a closed caption mode, a record mode, and a transcript mode to name a few. Thus, when the ambient sound level reaches a predetermined level many audio devices can change modes based on user configured instructions.

    摘要： The present invention provides a method and system that enables telephone users to specify parameters that will be used in filtering incoming calls to the user's telephone device. The invention can use parameters known in telephone use such as call cost or roaming detection of mobile telephone device and user-defined settings to enable users to control costs and improve efficiency when using their cell telephones especially outside their home network and/or time zone. These call filtering parameters serve to activate the call filtering method of the present invention. The user can choose parameters that specify telephone call cost and user time zone location as threshold parameters that can trigger activation of the call filtering method of the present invention. When those parameters are exceeded, the system will enable the user-defined settings that determine how to process or direct incoming calls. The method and system of this invention can include dynamic parameters (i.e. cost) and/or static parameters (i.e. time of day) as triggering parameters. Further, the method of this invention can be automatically activated by triggers or can be manually activated by the user at any time.

A repository stores a first user's profile that includes the first user's identifiers for multiple social networking websites (SNs) and the first user's master list of contacts. An alert is presented to the first user, where the alert indicates a request from a second user to establish a connection in a first SN between the first user and the second user. The first user approves the request to establish the connection in the first SN. If a search of the repository finds the second user's profile, then (1) connection(s) between the first user and second user are established in other social networking websites in which said first user participates and (2) the second user is added to the first user's master list of contacts.
