摘要: Systems and methods for cavitation-guided opening of a targeted region of tissue within a primate skull are provided. In one example, a method includes delivering one or more microbubbles to proximate the targeted region, applying an ultrasound beam, using a transducer, through the skull of the primate to the targeted region to open the tissue, transcranially acquiring acoustic emissions produced from an interaction between the one or more microbubbles and the tissue, and determining a cavitation spectrum from the acquired acoustic emissions.

摘要: An ultrasound diagnostic apparatus enables a user to easily select a target image from among a plurality of images captured by an image diagnostic apparatus. An identification unit identifies, as one image group, a plurality of images continuously captured at time intervals equal to or less than a predetermined time interval among a plurality of images captured by an image diagnostic apparatus. A display controller displays, on a display, the image group and an image other than the image group in a distinguishable manner. For example, the display controller displays the image group as one thumbnail image on the display, and displays the image other than the image group as one thumbnail image on the display.

摘要: A system for detecting/quantifying the conductance of a right-to-left cardiac shunt includes a mouthpiece assembly, a solenoid-driven vacuum/pressurization assembly; a controller for operating the solenoid-driven vacuum/pressurization assembly; and a monitor for displaying the instructions from the controller. A microbubble counting cell and digital image sensor are combined with software-based image analysis to determine a number of microbubbles contained in a microbubble counting zone. A monitor enables operator specification of total volume of contrast agent to be injected into the patient. One or more first Doppler ultrasound transducer arrays are positioned adjacent to targeted intracranial arteries at one side of the skull or a pair of first Doppler ultrasound transducer arrays positioned adjacent to targeted intracranial arteries at both sides of the skull. A second Doppler ultrasound transducer is positioned on the precordium of the patient to detect the arrival of microbubble-containing contrast agent in the right atrium of the patient.

摘要: The present invention discloses access devices and methods to create an access channel for introduction of one or more working devices into an anatomical region. The access channel is created using a visualization modality that is later removed before inserting one or more working devices through the access channel. This allows the methods and devices of the present invention to be used even in small sized natural or surgically created insertion tracts leading to the anatomical region. The access channel can be made of a device such as a sheath, a guidewire, and an elongate device comprising a lumen. Examples of visualization modalities are endoscopes and body insertable ultrasound imaging devices. The working devices can be used to perform a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic, or preventive procedures. Endometrial ablation devices and procedures have been used as an example to describe various aspects of the present invention.

摘要: Systems and methods for producing velocity data associated with three-dimensional (3D) flow field images. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving data associated with a plurality of frames of a flow field relating to image data acquired by a medical imaging device, in which the data includes information corresponding to measurements of the flow field over time within a chamber; performing, for each of the plurality of frames, the following operations including: generating, for a respective frame, a data correction based on an interaction of the flow field with the chamber, applying the data correction to a velocity field corresponding to the respective frame, and imposing an incompressibility constraint for the flow field on one or more data points of the respective frame; and generating, subsequent to imposing the incompressibility constraint, a plurality of corrected velocity fields each of which corresponds to one of the plurality of frames.
