    摘要： An intraocular lens folder having a generally planar, open frame in the shape of a rounded "A" with a rimmed, open head at the top of the "A." The base of the "A" forms a pair of opposing legs or handles that join to form a hinge at the crotch where the handles attach to the head. The hinge allows the handles to be squeezed together and yet spring apart when released. Squeezing the handles causes the top edge of the head rim to compress and move toward the hinge. The open head contains a plurality of projections terminating in open, relieved jaws into which the IOL is placed. The location of the projections is such that when the handles are squeezed together and the rim moves toward the hinge, two of the jaws moves toward each other, causing the IOL to be folded in half.

    摘要： An accommodating intraocular lens (AIOL) adapted for implantation into a capsular bag includes an outer shell, a valve, and a force transfer assembly. The outer shell includes at least one surface modification on at least a periphery of the outer shell to promote bonding with the capsular bag. The valve is configured to permit injection of a fill material. The force transfer assembly in the outer shell is adapted to transfer forces from the capsular bag to change the shape of the filled outer shell in response to changes in capsular bag shape.

    摘要： An intraocular lens injector plunger having a blunt, rounded tip offset from the centerline of the plunger rod. The offset tip assures that the tip is biased downward against the bottom of the cartridge bore. Such a downward bias helps prevent the tip from riding up over the IOL and being folded within the IOL. The offset also helps prevent the haptics of the IOL from becoming trapped between the plunger rod and the cartridge bore, thereby damaging the haptics and/or preventing the IOL from being advanced down the bore.

    摘要： Aspheric optical lenses (e.g., intraocular lenses and contact lenses) are provided. The intraocular lens includes a body portion defining an anterior optical surface and an opposing posterior optical surface. The anterior optical surface includes a central region surrounded by a first outer region and a second outer region. The central region has a first asphericity profile. The first outer region has a second asphericity profile that is different than the first asphericity profile of the central region. The second outer region has a third asphericity profile that is different than the second asphericity profile of the first outer region. The overall asphericity profile of the optical lens provides different depths of focus for different pupil sizes. The result is an optical lens that provides increased depth of focus or pseudo-accommodation while maintaining desired optical power and performance.
