摘要： A thermal dye transfer assemblage comprising: (a) a dye-donor element comprising a support having thereon a dye layer comprising a dye dispersed in a polymeric binder, the dye being: I) an electrically neutral, deprotonated, delocalized cationic dye precursor; II) a pendant basic dye of the formula D-(L-E).sub.m wherein D represents the residue of a dye, L represents a covalent linking group, E represents a moiety with basic properties and m is an integer of 1-3; or III) a cationic dye precursor having the following structure: ##STR1## (b) a dye-receiving element comprising a support having thereon a polymeric dye image-receiving layer, the dye-receiving element being in a superposed relationship with the dye-donor element so that the dye layer is in contact with the dye image-receiving layer, the dye image-receiving layer comprising a polyester ionomer comprising a polyester backbone containing units of a salt of a sulfonic acid or sulfonimide and a basic nitrogen-containing compound which has a pKa of its conjugate acid in the range from about 6 to about 10.

摘要： A thermal dye transfer assemblage comprising:(I) a dye-donor element comprising a support having thereon sequentially repeating dye layer patches of a dye dispersed in a polymeric binder, at least one of the dye patches containing a deprotonated cationic dye which is capable of being reprotonated to a cationic dye having a N-H group which is part of a conjugated system; and(II) a dye-receiving element comprising a support having thereon a polymeric dye image-receiving layer comprising a polyester polymer which itself does not significantly reprotonate deprotonated cationic dyes which may be transferred from the dye-donor element, to which has been added a hydrated transition metal or metalloid salt of a strong acid;the dye-receiving element being in a superposed relationship with the dye-donor element so that the dye layer is in contact with the polymeric dye image-receiving layer.

摘要： An improved continuous ink jet printing system which continually recirculates its ink through an ion-exchange treatment is disclosed. 摘要： A process for making an ink jet ink comprising: a) providing an organic pigment dispersion containing a pigment and a carrier; b) mixing the pigment dispersion with rigid milling media having an average size less than about 100 &mgr;m; c) introducing the mixture from step b) into a high speed mill; d) milling the mixture from step c) until a pigment particle size distribution is obtained wherein about 50% by weight of the pigment particles have a particle size less than about 100 nanometers; e) separating the milling media from the mixture milled in step d); and f) diluting the mixture from step d) to obtain the ink jet ink; wherein the milling media comprises negatively-charged polymeric beads which are crosslinked sufficiently to prevent swelling of the polymeric beads to levels greater than or equal to about 50 volume % within 4 hours at 25° C. in the carrier.
