    摘要: A modulo mi adder and a modulo mi,j scaling unit for use with an RNS. The adder includes a modulo mi barrel shifter, and a dynamic storage unit coupled to the barrel shifter to store the output of the barrel shifter. In a preferred embodiment, the dynamic storage unit includes one dynamic latch for each output line of the barrel shifter, with each of the dynamic latches including a clocked inverter in cascade with an inverter. One modulo mi,j scaling unit includes a modified modulo mi barrel shifter that performs both residue conversion and an arithmetic operation. The residue conversion is performed without using combinational logic. In one preferred embodiment, the modified barrel shifter performs the residue conversion though mi–mj additional columns that replicate normal columns for all modulo mi input lines that are congruent modulo mj. Another modulo mi,j scaling unit includes a barrel shifter-based arithmetic circuit, and a dynamic storage unit coupled to the arithmetic circuit to store the output of the arithmetic circuit.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods are provided for use in collecting fluids discharged from a patient and liquids used in various types of medical procedures. The apparatus includes a fluid control pad formed from multiple layers of material and one or more pouches attached to the pad. A first layer of film, or backup sheet, is preferably formed from liquid impervious material such as coextruded low density polyethylene and ethyl vinyl acetate polymers. A portion of the backup sheet is covered with a second layer of superabsorbent material and a top layer of cover stock. The first layer of film may be folded to provided pouches disposed longitudinally on opposite sides of the second layer of superabsorbent material. A strip of fiber reinforced porous web type material may be disposed in the opening to each pouch to assist in directing excess fluids from the second layer of superabsorbent material into the associated pouch.

    摘要: An intrinsic R2R resistance ladder digital to analog converter (DAC) includes a plurality of matched semiconductor ladder switches, one in each of the R and 2R legs of the R2R ladder. The ON resistance of each semiconductor switch being matched to constitute the resistance ladder of the DAC; the ladder switches being operated in response to the digital signal input to the DAC; a reference circuit including a reference semiconductor switch matched with the ladder switches responsive to a reference current to generate a reference voltage; and a voltage follower circuit for monitoring the reference voltage and adjusting the current through the ladder switches to match the voltage at each ladder switch with the reference voltage for precisely fixing the DAC analog output current as a proportion of the reference current in dependence upon the operation of the ladder switches by the digital input signal.
