摘要: A surgical draping system includes an under-draping, an over-draping, and a connecting draping connected by the under-draping and the over-draping. The surgical draping system is used to establish and maintain a surgical corridor to a surgical site or sites on a patient supported by a surgical table. The surgical draping system can accommodate rotation of the patient on the surgical table, such that the sterile surgical corridor is maintained even during such rotation. The sterile surgical corridor extends through an aperture formed in the over-draping, through an enclosed passageway formed through the connecting draping, and through an aperture formed in the under-draping.

摘要: Medical device kits for use in placing, maintaining, altering, and/or removing medical devices in, on, and/or from the body of a patient can include one or more wrap assemblies for use in the placement/maintenance procedure. The one or more wrap assemblies of the medical device kit can include various features to assist the clinician performing the particular procedure, such as a urinary catheterization procedure. A wrap assembly can include a wrap body including a front surface defining an aseptic field for the urinary catheterization procedure, a plurality of pockets on the front surface, and urinary catheterization components disposed in the plurality of pockets, the urinary catheterization components arranged in a predetermined order of use for the urinary catheterization procedure. The wrap assembly can be in a rolled configuration. A method of using the wrap assembly includes unrolling the wrap assembly and removing the urinary catheterization components to perform the procedure.

摘要: A mounting system for coupling first and second surgical components. The mounting system comprises a first mounting portion associated with the first surgical component, a second mounting portion associated with the second surgical component and comprising a tensioner movable between a first position and a second position, and a sterile barrier assembly. The sterile barrier assembly comprises a coupling configured to releasably secure to the first mounting portion and to releasably receive the second mounting portion when the tensioner of the second mounting portion is in the first position, and a plurality of kinematic couplers configured to engage the mounting portions and arranged to provide a kinematic coupling between the mounting portions through the sterile barrier assembly to constrain six degrees of freedom of movement between the surgical components when the tensioner of the second mounting portion is in the second position.

摘要: Systems, methods and devices are described herein for performing a navigated surgical procedure involving a patient's anatomy in sterile and non-sterile surgical environments. A camera may be used to determine a registration of the camera coordinate-frame to the patient anatomy or optionally a tracker in relation to the patient anatomy. A drape may be applied to permit use in a sterile surgical environment. The camera may be moved from its original position to enable access to patient anatomy while maintaining a registration of the camera coordinate-frame with the patient anatomy. Alternatively, the camera may be used in a hand-held or head-mounted manner. A visualization of the patient anatomy may be displayed on a computing unit, with visualization reference planes defined by the pose of an instrument or the camera. The visualization may be presented on a display of a computing unit or as part of a head mounted augmented reality system.

摘要: A catheter placement system designed to establish a conductive pathway through a sterile barrier from a sterile field to a non-sterile field. The catheter placement system can include a stylet having a first connector including a piercing component, and a sensing component, and a data-receiving component having a second connector. The data-receiving component can be designed for positioning in the non-sterile field under the sterile barrier. The first connector can be designed to conductively connect to the second connector of the data-receiving component through the sterile barrier via the piercing component without compromising the sterile field.

摘要: An integrated catheter placement system for placing a catheter in a vasculature of a patient. The system includes a system console with a tip location mode and an ultrasound mode viewable on a display, a magnetic assembly emanating a magnetic field, a tip location sensor designed to sense the magnetic field, and an ultrasound probe for ultrasonically imaging an internal portion of the patient. The magnetic field may provide magnetic field information for locating the magnetic assembly relative to the tip location sensor. The tip location sensor is designed to communicate the magnetic field information to the system console. The system console is designed to display an icon representative of a location of the magnetic assembly relative to the tip location sensor in the tip location mode.

摘要: A system and method for performing a package status check are provided, including a scanner for use in a surgical field and having an antenna for emitting a radio frequency detection field, the scanner including control circuitry configured to determine a predetermined quantity of sponges corresponding to a complete pack of sponges; count a number of sponges associated with the pack with the scanner prior to use of the sponges in a surgical field; and issue an alert when a number of counted sponges does not match the predetermined quantity corresponding to the complete pack. The system and method may include the control circuitry configured to determine whether a sponge has been re-scanned or is unknown by comparing detected information with previously detected information prior.
