There is provided a process for producing a modified polymer rubber, which comprises the steps of: (1) polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer, or the conjugated diene monomer and an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of an alkali metal catalyst in a hydrocarbon solvent to produce an active polymer having an alkali metal at its end(s), and (2) reacting the active polymer with a ketone compound represented by a specific formula to produce a modified polymer rubber.

A thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising 5 to 95 wt % of the following (A) and 5 to 95 wt % of the following (B), wherein the flowability index I according to a test for flow properties with a capillary rheometer is 1.35 or more: (A) an ethylene-null-olefin copolymer having a tensile stress M100 measured according to JIS-K-6251 of 2.5 MPa or less, (B) a polyolefin-based resin having a tensile stress M100 measured according to JIS-K-6251 of 2.5 MPa or more.

There is provided a process for producing a modified diene polymer rubber, which comprises the steps of: (i) polymerizing a conjugated diene compound, or a combination of a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of an alkali metal catalyst, thereby obtaining an active conjugated diene polymer having an alkali metal at the end thereof, and (ii) reacting the active conjugated diene polymer having an alkali metal at the end thereof with an amine compound represented by the specific formula (1), thereby obtaining the modified diene polymer rubber.

There is provided a process for producing a both end-modified diene polymer rubber comprising the steps of: (1) polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer or a combination thereof with an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of a compound represented by the following formula (1) to produce an alkali metal end-carrying active polymer, and (2) reacting the alkali metal end-carrying active polymer with an amine compound, a ketone compound, an acrylamide compound, a heterocyclic compound or a silyl compound represented by specific formulas, respectively: Rnull(CH2)nnullX-Mnullnull(1) wherein R is a functional group containing a substituent group-carrying nitrogen atom, X is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group comprising from 0 to 10 conjugated diene monomer units or aromatic vinyl monomer units, n is an integer of from 1 to 10, and M is an alkali metal.

There is provided a process for producing polymer rubber, which comprises the step of polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer or a combination of a conjugated diene monomer with an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of (1) an organolithium compound, (2) a solvent, (3) tetrahydrofuran in an amount of 0.0106 to 0.1060% by weight, and (4) ethylene glycol diethyl ether in an amount of 0.02 to 0.30% by weight, wherein the polymer rubber satisfies the conditions of (a) a vinyl group content in the polymer rubber is not less than 60% by weight, and (b) a Q value (Mw/Mn) of the polymer rubber is not more than 1.35.

There is provided a process for producing a modified polymer rubber, which comprises the steps of: (1) reacting one part by mol of an organoalkali metal compound with nnull0.7 (n is an integer of 3 or more) parts by mol of a specific diphenyl compound to produce a reaction mixture, (2) polymerizing in the presence of the produced reaction mixture an aromatic vinyl monomer and a conjugated diene monomer in a hydrocarbon solvent, and after completion of the polymerizing, stirring for at least 30 minutes, to produce a polymerization reaction mixture, and (3) repeating such an operation n-2 times that (i) an aromatic vinyl monomer and a conjugated diene monomer are added to the produced polymerization reaction mixture, and polymerized, and (ii) after completion of the polymerizing, stirring is carried out for at least 30 minutes, and thereby producing a modified polymer rubber, whose both ends and n-2 positions in its chain are modified by the compound represented by the formula (1).

There is provided a process for producing a modified polymer rubber having modified both ends, which comprises the steps of: (1) reacting a compound represented by the following formula (1) with an organic alkali metal compound to produce a chemical species, 1 (2) polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer or a combination of a conjugated diene monomer with an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of the chemical species to produce an active polymer having an alkali metal at an end thereof, and (3) reacting the active polymer with a functional group-carrying modifying agent in a hydrocarbon solvent to produce the modified polymer rubber having modified both ends.
