摘要: A plasma display panel that is capable of improving the discharge and light-emission efficiencies and the brightness. In the panel, a sustaining electrode pair is formed on an upper substrate in such a manner to be positioned at the edges of a discharge cell. A trigger electrode pair is positioned between the sustaining electrode pair to cause a trigger discharge for deriving a sustaining discharge. Dielectric layers are formed on the sustaining electrode pair and the trigger electrode pair to have a different thickness.

摘要: A plasma display panel having higher light-emitting luminance and efficiency of a discharge cell includes: plurality of first barriers successively formed on a substrate at predetermined intervals; a plurality of first sustain electrodes formed at a width more than 40% of a pixel pitch, which is an overall distance of four of the barriers, to be orthogonal to the first barriers; a plurality of second sustain electrodes spaced apart from the first sustain electrodes at a distance less than 20% of the pixel pitch and mated with the first sustain electrodes one by one; a dielectric layer formed at a thickness of 25 μm or more to cover the first and second sustain electrodes; and a plurality of pads formed on some of the dielectric layer corresponding to the first sustain electrodes and the second sustain electrodes in each discharge cell.

摘要: A method of driving a plasma display panel that is adaptive for improving brightness and efficiency. In the method, a sustaining pulse for sustaining a discharge of a cell selected in a sustaining interval is alternately applied to each of a sustaining electrode pair. A pulse signal synchronized with the sustaining pulse is applied to a data electrode to cause a discharge for inducing a long-path discharge between the sustaining electrode pair between any one of the sustaining electrode pair and the data electrode.

摘要: A plasma display device is provided. The plasma display device may include a plasma display panel (PDP), an upper substrate and a lower substrate, a plurality of scan electrodes and a plurality of sustain electrodes on the upper substrate, a plurality of first barrier ribs on the lower substrate in parallel with the scan electrodes and the sustain electrodes, a plurality of second barrier ribs on the lower substrate, that intersect the first barrier ribs, and are higher than the first barrier ribs, and a plurality of auxiliary electrodes on the upper substrate and overlap the first barrier ribs. Accordingly, the amount of invalid power of a PDP may be reduced by preventing crosstalk from occurring between a pair of sustain electrodes with a barrier rib interposed therebetween.

摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus. A bus electrode with high definition is formed and is formed on barrier ribs with a predetermined margin therebetween so that it is not overlapped with a discharge space. Therefore, the bus electrode does not infiltrate into a discharge space due to alignment error on upper/lower substrates. Furthermore, a transparent electrode in which at least one or more projections are formed from the bus electrode to the inside of a discharge space constitutes a scan electrode or a sustain electrode. A width of the transparent electrode is formed to be narrower than that of the bus electrode. Therefore, capacitance by the upper plate electrode can be reduced.
