摘要: An apparatus and control method for multicast traffic forwarding in a system supporting Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) multi-link includes: a memory adapted to store a received frame and a buffer handler having meta data information; and a network processor adapted to: store the frame received from an external network interface card in the memory; store the buffer handler indicating the frame and as many buffer handlers as either frame copies for multicasting or fragments for multi-linking; check the buffer handler stored in the memory and then to copy and transmit the corresponding frame stored in the memory via a corresponding port upon transmitting the frame to an external network interface card; and delete corresponding buffer handlers after transmitting the frame to the external network interface card, thereby managing forwarding of the frame.

摘要: In a network system using dynamic addresses, an address management server assigns dynamic addresses to hosts attempting to use the dynamic addresses in response to dynamic address requests from the hosts, and a router manages packet exchange between hosts connected to the network system based upon authenticated dynamic address information. In a method for assigning dynamic addresses in a network, dynamic addresses are assigned to hosts attempting to use the dynamic addresses in response to a request therefrom, the dynamic address information of assigned dynamic addresses is delivered to the host, and the dynamic address assignment information is registered in a dynamic address management table. In this way, invasion of the network by malicious hosts is prevented.

摘要: In a queue management method and apparatus in a network processor, enqueue completed and de-queue completed messages are transmitted to a scheduler when a queue manager performs enqueuing and de-queuing operations in the network processor, so that the queue processing time is synchronized between the queue manager and the scheduler. The queue manager in the network processor performs the de-queuing operation, includes the packet size information extracted from de-queued packet identification information in the de-queue completed message, and transmits it to the scheduler, so that the scheduler calculates the correct quantum of the port and queue.

摘要: A system and method for exactly estimating a volume of traffic is provided when packets are transferred within the network. The system and method receive data packets from clients through a plurality of router-for-clients, and creating a flow information packet for estimating information about a flow, transfer the data packets and the created flow information packet to the destination router-for-client via a router-for-relay, calculate information about the traffic of a flow at the destination router-for-client through the flow information packets transferred from the router-for-clients, and estimate a volume of the traffic. Thus, the system and method can estimate the volume of the traffic on the network with respect to the aggregated flow defined by the router pair connected to the terminal or the external network when the traffic is actually introduced into the network, instead of the flows of each terminal and each destination.

摘要: A hybrid channel assignment method comprising the steps of negotiating among routers to select one router to act as a central server; collecting, at the selected router, information on an entire network transmitted from the other routers, and assigning channels based upon the information on the entire network; and reassigning channels of respective routers based upon dynamically-changing traffic characteristics. The hybrid channel assignment method can assign channels using both centralized processing and distributed processing in order to ensure optimally correct channel assignment consistent with present traffic characteristics. This as a result can prevent network resources from being wasted and also increase network capacity, thereby optimizing effective use of the network resources.

摘要: A method for providing end-to-end security service in a communication network having an NAT-PT function comprises: performing security negotiation between a first node included in a first communication network having the network address translation-protocol translation function and a second node included in a second communication network operating with a protocol different from the first communication network; storing protocol translation information generated when the security negotiation is performed in the first node; and performing security transmission between the first and second nodes using the stored protocol translation information. The method transmits the address translation information to the ends in advance, thereby being capable of applying the security service using the address information on transmitting the data between hosts in the communication network using the address translation method.

摘要: An apparatus, computer program and method for packet buffer management in an IP network system. The apparatus includes at least one link queue buffer, a shared buffer, a buffer state detector, and a buffer manager. The at least one link queue buffer is allocated a buffer of a packet stored in a memory. The shared buffer is excessively allocated when exceeding a minimum buffer threshold value. The buffer state detector determines whether a buffer value stored in a link queue buffer of a corresponding link exceeds a preset minimum buffer threshold value. The buffer manager sets the shared buffer to be included in the link queue buffer if the stored buffer value exceeds the preset minimum buffer threshold value.
