Abstract:
An automatic document feeder includes a paper tray, a pick-up roller and a sheet-lifting mechanism. A plurality of sheets including a first sheet and a second sheet disposed above the first sheet is stored in the paper tray. The paper tray includes a bottom plate in contact with the first sheet, and a stopper for stopping leading edges of the first sheet and the second sheet. The pick-up roller, which is movable and rotatable, picks up the second sheet and enables the leading edge of the second sheet to pass over the stopper. The sheet-lifting mechanism disposed on the paper tray lifts up the leading edges of the second sheet and the first sheet from the bottom plate.
Abstract:
A document ejecting mechanism includes an output roller, a roller shaft, an idle roller, an idle shaft and an adjusting device. The roller shaft inserts through the output roller, which rotates the idle roller. The idle shaft inserts through the idle roller. The adjusting device adjusts a distance between the output roller and the idle roller. A document feeder using the document ejecting mechanism is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A duplex scanning apparatus includes a passageway, a first optical module, a second optical module, a transporting mechanism and an elastic pressing member. The first optical module is disposed on one side of the passageway. The second optical module is disposed on the other side of the passageway. The transporting mechanism transports an original sheet through the passageway and past a first scan position of the first optical module and a second scan position of the second optical module, and images of front and reverse sides of the original sheet are obtained, respectively. The elastic pressing member, disposed between the first scan position and the second scan position, pushes the original sheet towards an original supporting plane.
Abstract:
In a sheet-fed scanner capable of scanning multiple scan lines as a calibration standard for an image signal, a scanning module scans a document, which is fed across a scan region by a sheet-feeding mechanism, and a stationary calibration sheet in the scan region. The scanning module includes an image sensor, a lens and at least one reflecting mirror. An actuator actuates the reflecting mirror to enable the image sensor to sense a plurality of scan lines on the calibration sheet through the lens and the reflecting mirror in order to obtain a calibration standard for the image signal of the document. The calibration standard is adopted to calibrate an image signal of the document, and with this invention, it is possible to avert any flaws in image quality caused by the contaminated calibration sheet.
Abstract:
An automatic document feeder (ADF) having a replaceable friction roller assembly. The ADF includes a housing having a back plate which may be raised and a base pivotalby connected to the back plate, a supporting element disposed on the housing and having a shaft hole, a first engaging structure disposed on the housing, and a friction roller assembly. The friction roller assembly includes a rotating shaft, a friction roller and a first sleeve. The friction roller is fixed to the rotating shaft. The first sleeve is rotatably mounted on the rotating shaft. The first sleeve has a second engaging structure which is engaged with the first engaging structure in order to rotatably and firmly mount the rotating shaft to the housing. The friction roller assembly may be replaced when the second engaging structure and the first engaging structure are disengaged.
